Digigamer, go here for the forum
xwdesk.com/bbs/viewforum.php?fβ¦
and pull down what you need to retrieve just in case. Ensure you have copies of any documentation.
I am sure it is just a configuration glitch.

Ohh! Thank you.
It's not just a configuartion glitch.. The links given in XWidget Webpage are also wrong

That seems like a configuration error to me, a misdirection of some sort.

And whatever the error is ... its back again. The site has apparently lost all its CSS and JS. It is very difficult of make things out of that mess!

We need to wrest control of the site and the widget engine from Tony.

No, obtain control of the whole of the xwidget site, so that if it goes down you can point the domain elsewhere, fix any hosting issue &c.

Tony has purchased the domain, obtaining the domain's control is not possible in anyway.
His registration is expiring on Aug 15 anyway! (who.godaddy.com/whoisstd.aspx?β¦ )
If he is unable to carry on development, we should press on making XWidget open-source. Though, there is a caveat, we lack delphi programmers

Good research.
The domain will come available approx 30-40 days after it finally expires.
I bought xwidget.co.uk that can be used if required. I'd be happy to donate that.
xwidgets.co.uk is also available - both good domain names.
It is a UK top level domain that will have some credibility if we use it to host the site (if only temporarily). Unfortunately the gallery functionality requires the xwidget.com domain so we have to make overtures with Tony to get hold of it. If it expires we will need to buy it ASAP - someone will need to try to buy it every two/three hours after it expires.
Agreed Xwidget needs to be open-source.
The Delphi bit is not a big issue. IF we can make it open source and publicise the engine as the ONLY supported javascript widget engine for Windows still under development, it will attract developers.

Excuse me for the delay ... I was off by about a year. What are the developments now ?

Well nothing new - yet. Tony refuses to make the engine open source, will not open the organisation of the site to others, won't open a bug reporting mechanism, in fact won't do any of the things that are required for Xwidget to be seen as a professional component in the pantheon of desktop components. Don't understand him at all. He has been completely absent from the forums.
He has emailed me and Jim a couple of times when the forums have gone off line.
On the positive side he reckons that he will have a release of Xwidget 2.0 in March!

hmmm, expected something like that, I have seen several look-a-likes and I assume it is becoming quite a useful tool now that windows needs a launcher similar to IOS/android.
I had thought that they were copycats but they are simply clones you say? Have you tried them? Have the xwidget logos and links been removed?
I am not a big xlaunchpad user so I can't assist much I am afraid.
