If you have the patience it's really not that hard to learn. I'm surprised more people don't try it. Things like those I figured out on my own, and would be glad to give some advice if you ever want to try it.

Most craft stores should have what you need. That being said, many are hit-and-miss though. In the city I live in I go to some smaller independently run stores to get supplies, but they don't always have the colours I want. I'm starting to look at a few places online that say they carry the supplies I am looking to use.
Is there a Michael's in your city, or one close by? They should be a good place to get some supplies to try it out (without spending too much money upfront).
