Hey, thanks for stopping by and commenting on my fish print.
It's an intalgio print, using hard ground and acid etching. Basically you start with a metal plate, and then the hard ground--a brown mixture that dries hard--is painted on. Once that is dry, you drop it in a bath of acid, which eats away around the dried hard ground. When that is done, you have a plate, which is kind of like a photo negative. You wipe it with ink and put it in a printing press with some paper and voila! It's a very complicated process, but it's really fun. You can get a lot of different results from it, and you can make as many prints as you want.

Oh, and the ink goes in to all the areas that weren't covered by the hard ground, basically. so the white parts were covered and everything else got etched by the acid.

anyays, i'll come back soon. i just need to get some new stuff. my gallery was feeling "old" and i wasnt updating, so i didnt feel a need to keep it open- i mean, why keep the gallery if i'm not producing anything.
i'll probably eventually just make a new account.
