Just do what all people who become successful depictors of anime/mangaesque characters....
Rape, Pillage and steal from the work of others, and draw Dragon Ball Z characters on every piece of paper you come across, your notebooks.. etc.
It would be good to also get your cellphone, computer, wallet, wardrobe outfitted with characters as well as a reminder to keep your goal in focus.

My art is getting there, slowly. I'm at Simon's Rock College, and early enrollent higher education thing. It's bloody shit, and the work is too intense to actually keep up with. But I'll make something during summer vacation. In theory, that is.
