I am studying Mechatronics Engineering and I am really happy about it! It's a pretty enjoyable course despite the stress haha And yes, patience is key and I should savor and enjoy the time while I'm still studying. Thank you, Mashi

oh, that's very scientific, I mean, you need a very analytical and systematic mind to study that kind of major
I didn't really know you are more a tech person but that's good, it's a very lucrative domain indeed
I'm kinda worried that there soon be too many programmers as more and more people decides to learn to code, eh
but I love maths anyway, so there are plently of other domains that involve it

no problem ^_^

ellah2698 In reply to Masanohashi [2019-02-01 13:03:00 +0000 UTC]

Right you are! HahaΒ  yeah. I'm not really the techie type but I have taken an interest in robotics which is why I took this major field. Yes, but it seems that future trends will investΒ  more in technology and tech applications,so programmers will really grow in numbers. It's cool that you love math! I wish I didn't loathe math when I was little haha

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to ellah2698 [2019-02-01 21:16:10 +0000 UTC]

OH, believe me that when I was younger I really didn't like amths too! Even very much so. But later I found out it was mostly because of the way it was taught in school which was just terrible. Like, they were cramming you with the material expecting you to know it all. And having 5-6 hours of maths a week when you also had a lot of other classes could make you really exhausted. But not too long ago I found out that maths is actually great. But you have to find a way to learn it yourself. Outside of any standardized school norms. When you learn it like that, you may find it fascinating. I figured out that since I love all sort of puzzles and stuff that tests your logic, I can very much love trying to solve mathematical exercises. And I did. So yeah, that's how I figured out it's a great field to use my logical skills.

Still, if you are good on robotics, it means that you are a techie, at least to some point

Eh, larger market means more competition, you know. And more competition means less money. Which is a bummer.
So I'd prefer there were less tech-skilled people.

Whoa that was so insightful. Somehow, there are times you just needed to look back and change your perspective on how to tackle things your own way to push through

I see your point, which is true tho. Demand drives salary

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to ellah2698 [2019-02-03 10:00:06 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's true. Somehow that school system never worked really well for me. Because you see, it's like you are doing stuff which you have to instead of doing it because you want to. More like, doing stuff just to be done and not being passionate about or truong to do it really well. I guess you know what I mean. You are much more effective in your work when you are really devoted to it. And the school system very much takes away that possibility. For me at least.

This is how economy works. If there are few specialists in given field, clients are willing to pay more because they know there is no other way around it. But i there are more specialists, prices go down. Becuase when you have two people doing given job equally well, you split all the salary between the two rather instead of it going to the one person's hands.Β

By the way, I wonder how people expect legal professions to be still lucrative. I mean, there ar so many people studying it that either many of them will be later unemployed or the market will expand so much that they will not earn any decent money. Yet, many people still decide to study law because they think it's a good field. Oh well.

STEM fields are still lucrtative but I'm seriously worried about that market too

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ellah2698 In reply to Masanohashi [2019-02-05 03:56:27 +0000 UTC]

I get what you mean! I feel the same. The feeling that you get when you are being forced to do something you're not feeling at the time but you need to accomplish puts pressure to someone in a not good way. They'd be focused on finishing the job but not actually learning. Process is more important than product.

I don't know as well haha Unless they got it from illegal mattersLegal professions require further research and like the law, they change as time passes by. Like any other fields, it requires more research to deal with problems that change in different times. Law is not a small thing as well so maybe that is why demand is always there.

Yeah. But in honesty, I'm excited with STEM growing just because of the fact that there are more inventors that are readily available and can help one another to help create many and different projects

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to ellah2698 [2019-02-05 12:19:06 +0000 UTC]

Well, first of all, the quality of the outcome strictly depends on the process within which it's being made.
I can understand why the schooling system works this kind of way as it's supposed to instate discipline and kind of work ethic which is crucial, still when you are forced to do something, the result is not as good as when you do it willingly. So I would say it's needed to find the balance between those things. Like, be discipined but not to the point that it makes you suffer. And perhaps it would not be bad if shcool found some other methods of encouragement than just discipline. But truth to be told, schools here are even weak with disciplining students.

It's true, you have constantly educate yourself and be up-to-date with all changes with the legal rules. Still, there are just so many lawyer students that if they all graduate, it will seriously no longer be any good profession. there already is too many laywers. And most of them are paid really lowly. Those attorneys who earn a lot are just 'loud few'. And usually those who graduated when law was still profitable profession. Now the supply is way overcultivated, so to say.

Possibly. But I don't think that there will be that many inventors after all. Or whose inventions will actually be useful.
Also, I don't think it's a good idea to just learn to code because one hears they can make good money on that. In my opinion STEM fields, like everything, require talent and passion. If somebodye does not really feel apt in maths, physics or other scientific domains, there is no point in forcing oneself to learn it in order to be a mediocre programmer.

I keep trying to make my art better in various ways
in fact, I'm looking for a personal style

yeah, exactly ;/ it cuts time spent on art drastically... but oh well
and how does your studies go?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ellah2698 In reply to Masanohashi [2016-02-24 12:47:47 +0000 UTC]

I was doing the same thing since last year! I was really trying hard to find my own style. And now I'm happy to where it is going. So don't let it stress you out. Look at your work and change what makes you uncomfortable until you are satisfied. That's my personal tip. So don't stop. You're doing really good!

We already finished our tests. Oh my goshhh It was hard TT^TT I just want to lay in a bath tub filled with ice cream then sleep.

Yep, it's exactly the way I'm practising. I mean, I'm mostly concentrating on stuff that I don't feel very skilled in.
And I'm very glad you think so I appreciate it.

I see ^^' Hopefully it pays off.
By the way, what kind of major you are studying?

You're welcome!
Umm I was planning to study Mechatronics in the future. Right now, 1st year, we don't have majors. We're still studying basics and then on our 3rd year, we are free to choose what major we want to have. I'm pretty hyped about the idea of Mechatronics so I'll give it a shot!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to ellah2698 [2016-03-09 11:09:06 +0000 UTC]

oh, mechatronics? that's soΒ academic
are you strong at maths and the-like subjects? because yeah, such things demand a scientific brain to get a hold of them

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ellah2698 In reply to Masanohashi [2016-03-11 09:21:09 +0000 UTC]

Haha Well, I can't say I'm THAT good. I could handle some word problems (Geometry and Physics are nice). Others, I could understand but it takes time. So yeah C:
I'm really Really REALLY prone to mistakes. TTuTT
So how about you? Are you in college?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to ellah2698 [2016-03-11 09:44:59 +0000 UTC]

well, then Id advise to rpactise some maths beause well, they will demand it a lot of you on mechatronics
or more than maths, systematic thinking, like thinking in numbers, doing analysis and such

yep, I'm finishing it slowly
I'm in 4th grade when there are 5 on my major
