# About me

I'm an old fahioned kind of illustrator who works in traditional mediums, Indian ink and watercolours. I live in Brighton, UK, though I've only just moved here (but it's good to be by the seaside again).
I also do a fair amount of craft work, namely papercut and bookmaking, but my current big project is making my own comic.

Besides here, you can slao find me at my etsy shop (www.etsy.com/shop/freakydragon… ) or my website:

Hey! I finally found my way here.. soon to have up my own stuff. Gemma I love your art, I always have and you are just getting better and better!! Don't ever stop drawing.. even when you're 90!

My crippled hands will still drag the pen even then Keep sketching! I love how personal and free your pencil work is.

Thanks, I'm trying to pick it up again, it's been a long time since I've drawn something I'm happy with.

I wonder what life will be like when we're old, how art will develop. I'll still hold to the traditional side of things.

You have a fantastic gallery, even just at the first glance I managed :3 . I'll definately have to browse when I have more time on my hands (it's sleepy time now, if I'm ever going to drag myself out of bed in the morning )

Wow, all the way from Aus? It's only 7pm here!
Thank you very much for the kind words, I know my artwork is rather...messy and not to everyone's taste. But I had a look at you gallery and it's lovely, much more mixed media than mine. You obvisouly have great confidence in your drawing ability and some of the more experimental work, like the screenprint, look like you have a great deal of potential in other medias too (I didn't have much patience with screenprinting..)

SKitFox In reply to freaky-dragonlady [2011-05-13 02:39:10 +0000 UTC]

Haha, yeah. It was after midnight when I posted that, and my partner was getting annoyed I never go to bed when I say I will

Thats good though, not being to everyones tastes. Shows you work true to your own style, rather than conforming to the more popular tasts of sleek and shiny
Aww, thankyou, the confidence comes and goes XD (and screenprinting involves more cleaning than arting, I have very little patience for it too XD)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

freaky-dragonlady In reply to SKitFox [2011-05-13 12:03:23 +0000 UTC]

I know that feeling, 'Yeah sure...just one more page then bed...'
I have no idea why your confidence would be lacking, your watercolours are also particularly delicate - I slap them on! I probably horrify watercolour artists with my heavy handedness

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SKitFox In reply to freaky-dragonlady [2011-05-15 09:15:35 +0000 UTC]

Haha, yes, that is me all the time. or "Yeah, I'm coming just as soon as I finish inking this..." ... then crawl into bed three hours later after inking, colouring, scanning and uploading said image XD. My partner's getting used to it

Thankyou we're our own worst critics I guess in a way. It's natural to have doubts, I'm told XD.
Haha, thanks, I don't treat them very delicately they just turned out to be a medium I really connected with.
Well, I like your heavy handedness The messy lines of your art works really well. Your faces are particularly lovely. I love liney faces :3

I apologize for not waiting for your permission for the vid (I assumed most people would like to have their work made public, especially since they have it posted on the internet).

If it would help at all, I can add a link to your profile and the specific picture in the video description.

Also, the video is here: [link]

No problem! I absolutely love the Dark Tower series, and I always find it interesting to see other peoples artisitic vision on what the last gunslinger actually looks like.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

freaky-dragonlady In reply to PlutonicPassion [2011-02-06 19:21:12 +0000 UTC]

I agree - the time scale of the Dark Tower stories also allows in a lot of variation in Rolands' age*, allowing for even more variations in each readers' imaginations, it's fantastic to see all those imaginations put to paper .

I love how experimental you gallery is, it's always great to see people being unafraid to try all mediums and methods to find 'their' style and favored material. It's a really lovely bold mix.

Sorry to inform you of this, but ~Kashplz is using a script. He added you randomly and never looked at your work. Here’s a link to an article detailing it: [link] If you would please spread the word by informing more people or posting a journal about it, it will be very appreciated. Also, here is a petition to STOP this kind of thing: [link] If you want to know people REALLY like your art that you work hard on, please ask to be added. One last thing: If you do not want this bot watching you, you can block him. That’s all.
