# About me

Hello, My name is Fred.
I was born in Poland and today I live in Israel with my family. I’ve been drawing and painting for the last several decades, mainly using oil paint on canvas.
I love to paint everything and I'm never fixed on a single style - portraits, abstract & surrealism, landscapes, still life, Sci-Fi - you name it, I draw it :)
Lately I have discovered a new technique that caught my attention - Scratchboard! And since then I’ve been experimenting and trying out new methods and ways to make my work stand out and be unique.
So what is it Exactly?
Scratchboard is basically what it sounds like - scrathing off the black color from a special deck or paper - Exposing the white color beneath and creating the illustration.
The materials i use are special as I don't buy my scratchboards - I make them by myself. They varey in sizes but are always on a hard wooden thick plate - Creatng a very special piece of art. Each piece I make is unique and one of a kind.
The process of creating these drawings can take from several hours of work, to tens of hours - depending on the complexity.
