They don't make lineart. They download and share other peoples lineart.

Ok, just to make it clear to every non-polish friend (sth I've already posted below, but I'll re-post so everyone can see):
was a group once, I was part of it 5 years ago- and my lineart is still available in this gallery
And as a matter of fact- this group was made to PREVENT art theft by giving the chance to freely modify a lineart made exactly for this precise purpose.
So don't report anything please, this is all legal, all the authors have given their lineart to this group voluntarily.
We were all well aware that our linearts will be edited/traced/or whatever, so don't worry.
Stay toasty!

Hello!
Would you be able to leave a comment with your opinion on my journal? An art teacher has recently decided that it's not art to repaint figurines, and I personally disagree. I'd like to know what the public, thinks, though! If you can't or don't want to comment, though, that's fine.

DUDES AND DUDETTES!
This account is NOT an art thief! You may have or may not have noticed that the artists who got CREDITED in the deviations (which "thief" does this? ) also show up at the list of people on the front page.
I am not entirely sure because I don't speak polish and don't really understand the translation either. But this, my dear white knights, looks like it used to be an old group once. Yes, A group. It might sound scary, but wasn't possible to create an official group like the ones you know until a few years ago.
All the linearts on this account were most likely made by people who were members of this group. People who SUBMITTED their linearts to this group.
Have a closer look and you'll see that they were actually fighting against art thieves. Go figure.
....Snickers for everyone!

FlufferMcNutters In reply to Meadowind [2014-04-23 11:26:58 +0000 UTC]
I dunno if they're thieves or not, but yeah, some people who steal art do credit the person they stole from. They don't always know that they're stealing and think that them crediting the artist makes it okay, which it doesn't. And then some people know that they're stealing and either play stupid or just use the credit to back them up.

Meadowind In reply to FlufferMcNutters [2014-04-23 12:08:42 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, that's true. Though when I usually see unintentional thieves giving credit to stolen and reposted artwork, they often don't write anything more than "lol I found this in google and liked it", which is not a source... Though when it comes to linearts which were posted on deviantart by other users before like in this case, I have not yet seen someone who purposely stole it, knowing that the deviation already exists, and gave credit to the original deviant. That just seems very unlikely. (with the new mentions system, this would immediately backfire anyway) They either just claim to have found it on google again or don't give credit at all, which already happened to a few of my bases. ^^'
But was the little part between the brackets the only only thing you focused on? As you can see, I described why I thought this might mst likely be a group which actually was against art theft. And an old member just confirmed this in the newer comments.

That's what I've thought. Glad to see that an official voice is confirming this.
Too sad that everyone was asuming the opposite, oh the irony.

AlunaKioshi In reply to Meadowind [2014-03-30 00:08:19 +0000 UTC]
I know. It's more than irritating, even the most brainless people (Not to sound offending to anyone) should know that art thieves do not credit lineart/bases, adoptables, etc to the original owners. The fact that no one will take the time to look at the art, or even take a few moments on googling, "How did users of DeviantART have a group before the official ones came out" is quite sad. I see many "users" that have multiple linearts on them by different people before groups were even an official thing.
It's not hard to get a group of 4-5 people and make an account labeled "____Linearts" and having the password set for something everyone can remember and use. However, I do not know if they used to do that groups, but that's how my friends and I used to use our stuff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but seriously. The last activity of this account was 3 years ago. As if the person behind of it would care about being reported. As if they would still remember that this account even exists.

Hm true indeed you are right I remember when groups did not exist but doesn't mean you have to be rude about it. At least to me it seemed rude.

The truth is not always made of rainbows and sparkles
You know what's rude? A bunch of random strangers accusing a dead group as an art thief without even bothering first to check whether this is even the case or not.

You know, just because the lineart is free, gives you NO permission to re-upload it, unless youve asked and have proof of it, you have been reported.

you upload them to any program with a paintbrush, such as paint, gimp, or photoshop, then just color in the lineart. c: (sorry if that doesn't help, or wasn't what you were asking!)
