Martin, Yes the Outer Space Men were designed in the late 1960's by Mel Birnkrant as a companion to Matt Mason. [link]

O yeah, I am familiar with them, I've never seen one but I've seen pictures on the net. I have some Major Matt Mason figures in my collection.

I owned one Major Matt Mason way back in the late 1960s. Interesting to hear a movie is in the works starring Tom Hanks
