That's a good question. I must have requested to submit almost a dozen air balloon pics in the last couple weeks, and most of all the requests expired. It's only after that one of the group contributors requested my Balloon Perspective directly which then got accepted into the group.

I know from the only group that I help run (Small-Simple) that for every picture one requests to submit, that the group contributors often have to cast a number of votes on whether to accept or decline the image. Maybe with Hot Air Balloons club there simply aren't enough contributors to vote anymore on a regular basis.

That's a Shame because It seems to be the only atractive group of the category and it's not well attended...:/

Yeah it is a shame I found it a bit annoying that all of my submission requests into their group had been left to expire, but I can kind of understand why... it's not that big a group, not even 50 members as we speak, and I think it's because air balloons form such a specific subject matter that they simply don't appeal to a wide audience here on dA.

From personal experience, I'm fairly comfortable saying I'm good at shooting air balloons, but it's been 5 consecutive years now that I've attended the local festival that lasts just a week in a whole year. Then again, I'm lucky we have an air balloon festival so close to home every year, and so I've managed to accumulate quite a few air balloons pictures... but I think for most everyone else it's more of a rare event, so the overall number of air balloons pictures available aren't that great versus, say, more general forms of photography like landscapes or portraits. At any rate, thanks again for appreciating my air balloons

Indeed...I mean..I actually took some pictures of the Memorial Day Festival..but I was just visiting that place..it is Unusual for me..but I found it awesome, And there are lots of people who paint them, not just take pictures, so it is not just the fact that they haven't the opportunity...but Anyways, I wrote to the user in charge, and Asked her (him) I'm waiting for a Reply...

If The User says something like she/he doesn't have time for it or something we should open a new group and invite people...what do you think? I mean...I have not too much to do and I Always visit DA like 20 times a Day! (literally! haha) Would you support my crazy idea? X)

Again..your Pictures are awesome You have nothing to thank you're really good at it..and groups help us artists to get known :3 that's why a HotAirBalloon group should exist n.n

Sounds like a great idea, and I'd be willing to help you with a new air balloon club. God knows how many times my air balloons have been used in other deviations (especially photomanipulations)

Only thing is, I'm going on an extended vacation soon, down to Washington DC, then to Ireland and France until early August. If you're willing to wait that long, then I can set myself a google reminder to discuss again the possibility of creating a new group devoted to air balloons, just let me know
