very much for  the     on my " Slugterra. The Fatal Duel. Chapter 1One day the Shane Gang was having breakfast in their hideout, thinking of what mission or adventure they should go on that day.
"Are there any distress calls, Trix?" Eli Shane asked. He felt rather bored, as he and his friends hadn't had much to do during the past two days, so he was longing for some action.
Trixie Sting took out her high-tech touch screen device and opened the map of Slugterra on it.
"No, everything seems to be peaceful." She said, examining it.
Eli moaned, rolling his eyes, and leaned against the sofa's back.
"If we spend another day doing nothing, I'm gonna die!" He complained, closing his eyes. Burpy on his right shoulder looked rather depressed too.
"Oh, come on, Eli!" Trixie looked at him with displease.  "A little rest is good for us."
"For you maybe, but I'm the Shane!" Eli objected. "My job is to protect Slugterra! I can't have rest! Because if I do…"
He hasn't finished the sentence.  Trixie's device suddenly beeped, indicating that some " story and  for having added me to your   !   I feel very honoured indeed!

Your welcome. I just found the series last week and I fell in love. My brain loves it and makes all kinds of stories. You could use a little more practice when it comes to writing but its not a bad start

A trick i learned is that synonyms are your friend. Never use the same word too many times in quick secession. Be colorful and creative with your word choice while stick to the the character’s personalities.

Another thing is to see how far you can take the characters, especially in fan fiction. I like where you are going with fatal duel. You should make a sequel with Eli having to be forced to stay home while still injured while the others fight blite.

I do use synonyms. I am perfectly aware  of the fact that you can't use one and the same  word too often.

I'll think about the sequel to "The Fatal Duel". I'm glad, you have still enjoyed it. (I hope.)

Yeah... We do have a fairly large group. Probably a little too big

We still play every Saturday, although it's mostly Savy and Okra DMing.
I'd like to bring a few of the regulars over to another group, though, where it would be Foresters and some other stuff here and there (and, of course, a chance for other players to be behind the DM's screen if they like.)

Then hit me up on Discord sometime ^^
I can only use it on weekends, though, so don't expect an immediate response if you message me during the week
(Not having internet at home sucks -.- )

As for the technicals, well, don't worry about 'em too much. Between you and me, I know fuck-all about 5e - I pull most of my decisions out of my arse as I need 'em X'3
The rulebook is there as a reference. It is not gospel. You're allowed to (and in fact encouraged to) improv, make judgement calls, and come up with your own solutions to keep the game flowing and fun. Just as long as you are consistent and act like you know what you're doing, you'll be fine

guard1ans In reply to TheyCallMeSage [2017-09-26 00:53:08 +0000 UTC]

Not that kind of technicals. What shops carry how to do exp. that kind technical

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheyCallMeSage In reply to guard1ans [2017-09-26 15:38:18 +0000 UTC]

What shops carry is generally based on their location. A small town shop would have basic supplies and may not offer anything extraordinary. On the other hand, a major city probably has somebody selling what the players are looking for... For the right price, of course ;3

Exp is an optional rule. When used, it is usually based on what is encountered - experience values are often listed as part of a thing's entry (monster, trap, etc.) and split evenly between the PCs who encountered it.
Alternatively, you can pick a fraction of the amount needed to level up and simply award that at the end of the session (which is my preferred method.) For example, if you know that your PCs are ~3000exp from leveling up, and you want them to level up by the end of the next session, then split that 3000 exp between the two sessions. (This does not have to be an even split - if this session the players find a lost dog and the next they banish a lich, maybe award 500exp each this time and 2500 exp each next time.)
The other option is to just say the hell with exp, and award levels at "milestones" as players achieve goals. In other words, you would tie the characters getting stronger with progress being made in your story. (Needless to say, this only really works if your characters are following a story.)

And ultimately, what I said before applies here: If you don't know what you're doing, then bullsh*t your way to victory X3c

Keeping track of all that. I barely keep names straight

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheyCallMeSage In reply to guard1ans [2017-09-26 21:50:17 +0000 UTC]

Well, the easy way to do the shops is to let players track down whatever they're looking for, unless it's exotic or rare. (Buying a goat could probably be done in any town. Buying a war elephant may take a little searching.)

And the easy way to keep track of exp is to just not X'3 The milestone method works pretty well for longer campaigns, while for shorter ones it really doesn't matter all that much
