Hey dude,

I am trying to start my own game business. I just recently started using XNA and the Torque game builder. I got a 2D platformer starter kit so I am going through the process of learning it.

How are things with you?

Nice.. I'm very interested in playing around with XNA too.. but heard its more of a code base to start with rather than an ready to used engine that we can add art to. Still sounds interesting indeed.

I'm doing alright.. Getting really inspired by hanging around on DA. makes me want to get my stuff done and uploaded. So many talented artist on here, I find this is much better than something like CG channel or CG talk which just seems to get swamped and you don't really feel like you are part of a community as all you have is the forums to stay in contact with the other artists. Its so cool how each artist has a page that they can invite others to engage with them. The favourites section is so good. Once you find a good artist you get exposed to so many others.

Anyway.. sick of work.. sick of a lack of direction. feel like I'm wasting my time here.

Yeah I really love how nice and streamlined this community is. I signed up for a premium account today. I hope to start selling stuff on here.

Sorry to hear that you are feeling that way about work. That was one of the main reasons that I left. Anyways, yeah there is a bit of coding that you have to do with xna but there is a lot of tools available to help people who are not that code savy. Torque has put out a new game engine that helps out alot in that regard.
