How long does it usually take you to animate a single character before you go to the next one?

It really depends on the character, it's size, amount of detail, camera view. Average platformer humanoid character takes around 40 minutes for a key-frame and 15-20 for the in-between.

I liked your Tali/Shep pic. Here's the thing; If you do comissions, I'd like to ask you to do one for gratis.
There's a great fic on fanfiction that deserves a lot more tribute than it gets at the moment.
All I'm asking is that you read it and draw any/your favourite character from that fic, should you enjoy Reading it.

With all due respect, the basic concept of the word 'commission' is doing a service for someone in exchange of a payment retribution. Whit you asking for something 'gratis' wichi in spanish means 'for free' would be an entirely different request, perhaps what you should try to ask is for 'fanart' but then again it depends if the artist has o develops any desire to draw something for the fanfic.
In my personal opinion you should not straight ask someone to do something 'for free' just because you have a certain attachment to a fanfic; every person has things to do with their own time and it sounded a bit unpolite of you, I agree with always suggesting to read what one thinks are fanfics in the hopes the other person will like it too. But if he does or not fanart for it its entirely up to him.
Then again, is just my opinion as a third party, feel free to ignore it if it suits you better.
