Uh lol I dunno! I've never used the muro thing, so I don't know how to explain it to work there, but I usually just block out the colour, then scribble in the darkest shade at 25% opacity. After that I just blend from the base colour and one or two inbetween colours. For highlights it's usually the same kind of thing, but instead of the lightest colour it's usually the second lightest and blend that as much as possible and then add on the lightest colour carefully.

For that drawing specifically, I'd use a smaller brush(again, I dunno if that happens in Muro) for the hair, just because I find it looks more like hair that way. Also pick a darker grey so it's not such a jump between black and grey - black hair doesn't really have a lot of variance between the shades.

I hoped that helped! Technique wise, I would just go with whatever is comfortable. I found it easier to scribble and blend things a lot, but you might find it better to do more block-like shading or another kind of shading.

Photoshop. I usually just grab the darker colour and on 25% do one stroke, then grab that colour(that's inbetween the base colour and the darkest colour) and blend them. I dunno if that made sense? Maybe i'll make a video. It's a lot of colour grabbing with the eyedropper tool.
