Thanks for watching! I'm almost certain you found me because of GI Joe. You have a pretty robust gallery yourself - good stuff! You should more GI Joe characters, but this time stay away from the Ninjas and the glam. LOL!

😂😂 those pics are extremely old... I've moved onto to more tangible forms of GI Joe... customizing MegaBloks Call of Duty figures into Joe's... I'm now also working on 3D printing vehicles in scale with them to accompany them, but it's taking more time than I anticipated to whip up decent models.

I recently created a Viper helmet for 3D printing. Although it was a very clean and precise file, it turned out kind of sloppy after the print - and very expensive! It would have been cheaper to send the file to an actual helmet manufacturer and have them develop it the old fashioned way, probably. Thankfully, I did it for someone else who wanted the print for a costume, so no harm to my wallet.
I've considered for a long time to develop and print a better articulated, better scaled Lego mini figure. The more I think about it, though, the more I feel like the entire Lego system would need to be redesigned to a 1:1:1 ratio (in terms of a cubic brick with 1 stud). It's too much effort.

Just commented on a bunch of your pictures, and I wanted to add, that I love that you have you very own distinctive and consistent style. That is not easy to achieve with 3D, so major kudos for that.
Also I haven't commented on the background stories of your characters, but I have read them ALL, and I love the diversity. Very intriguing.

Thanks for all the great comments... Considering these characters are the culmination of over a year's worth of work... I really appreciate the things you said.
Im glad you like the style Im using... I started out using V4/M3 base figures... but after the SW Clone Wars movie came out, I fell in love with that style... unable to recreate it for myself (though Im still thinking about it), I came up with the style you see here... a little more stylized, but still somewhat realistic proportions.
The backgrounds is an ongoing process that monopolizes my time, LOL. and with the growing number of characters, it is truely becoming difficult to keep the diversity going. (hence why you see many similar cases in my descriptions... those are the characters I have not yet finished the bio's for).

I LOVE your style. You could have gone Aiko/Hiro, but that would have been too much (imo). This is JUST right. And it is very uniquely your style.
And I knoooow about having to come up with new settings *sigh*. Always stressful and especially time consuming.

Im really glad you like my character's style. I didnt want to go full-on Anime/Manga, I have never been a fan of that style myself. I realized back during Clone Wars season 1 that the characters I was looking at on the animated series were fast becoming my vision of those characters more than the feature film actors. Once I realized that, I knew I needed a style that could work in that way. Photo realistic characters were not going to work. By stylizing the characters, I realized they bring out the features of the characters that make them who they are. And in doing so to my characters I realized I was able to connect with them much more, they became individuals to me, not just some random 3D creation. Some of my characters even help me write their biographies because I can connect with them so much better this way. Its nice to see the effort I put into these guys came through when other people look at them.

There are some sites dedicated to the starships of Star Wars. Some of them are quite good, as Star Wars Deckplans Alliance, and I would like to see you team up with them. Your starships would be a great addition to their work.

Hey brother, thanks again for the heads up on your vintage photoshoot. You and your model did a fantastic job with the ol' uniform. It had a very pin-up or nose-art quality to it that was excellently executed. In case you don't hear it anymore, thank you for serving in the military. For whatever reason you did it, it was a hard and brave thing.
Anywho, I'm looking forward to seeing more from you Joe. By the way, that's my name as well. Freaky, huh? Peace man

Thanks!
Im a HUGE fan of Pin-Ups and Nose Art (if you couldnt tell from my more recent Star Wars work), but never thought of myself as capable of pulling it off correctly thru photography. To find a model who fits the bill is not easy, and the lighting is as difficult to pull off as the clothing is to find. Thanks for saying my work resembles that.
As for hearing thanks for serving... I hear it less and less each day... We Vets dont quite get the treatment that active duties get.

I saw what you meant with the Star Wars pin-up; the Bantha thing was pretty cool. I agree with the difficulties in good pin-up photography. The big keys are quality lighting, a good selection of costumes to pull from, and a model who's attractive and playful in front of a camera. I think the third part is the big clencher. I've known plenty of girls who have the looks for it, but have all the personality of a hollow-turd when it comes to working in front of a camera. By the same standard, I've known girls that weren't as pretty, but damn if they didn't sell you on personality man. That stuff shows in the pictures.
As for thanks from the Civies; fuck 'em. Those of us that have been there and dealt with the almighty-suck, we don't forget; that's what matters. I didn't join to get thanks from them - I joined for great healthcare(that always makes me laugh!) and to see the world... at the bottom of the ocean. Getting sterilized through radiation exposure was just a bonus
Seriously though, it was a good ride and I'm glad I did it.
