I'll go straight to the point!  

Apparently, the limit is 60kb file size, which is the equivalent of I think 3000 or so words. It also depends on the amount of characters in the document, which is why it's so difficult to estimate just how much you have to cut to make it acceptable. So far my longest is is 7000+ words (here: fav.me/d7hjixu) which I have already and HAVE to split into a smaller piece at the end. . . ._.

Thanks. Yeah, I ended up having to split my 1 chapter into 2. Also, when it submitted the layout looks weird, with huge gapes between lines and paragraphs. I'm not sure how to fix it.

That's because you pasted it from a Word Document right (or you probably uploaded your Word Document)? The trick is :

(1) Go to your Literature Deviation;
(2) Select the "Edit with Stash Writer" located on the right hand side of the page (right below the "Edit" and "Delete" button);
(3) Then select all text of the literature in the box;
(4) Then click the Formatting button (located on the top, FIFTH from the left - it's right next to the underline button, and it looks like "tT" button);
(5) Select "Normal";
(6) Basically you have click "Enter" at every line and paragraphs. 

Another painstaking trick is : you can try to fix it as it is, but you still have to go through each line and paragraphs i.e. you have to go to one line, clicking backspace until it closes the gap, then clicking enter until it becomes single lined. But that means you have to do this for every.single.line.and.paragraphs.

YES I KNOW THAT'S DIFFICULT AND HARD, it's what I have to go through every single time.

Anyways, the thing is, DA doesn't support Word's setting/coding. It has its own coding. Either way, I would suggest (if you're writing new stuffs) that you write in Sta.sh Writer or Google Docs. What I normally do is write my stories on my phone and send it to my own email, so I could clear the format (using what looks the "Tx" button - Google Docs have this as well). By clearing the format, you could paste the text into DA's Stash and begin formatting (as in bolding the words, or italics, or underlining them).

[PS : In order to ascertain more audience for your literature, I would suggest that you join Fullmetal Alchemist groups and other literature groups so you could add your story into them and people could be able to view it as well - it's great for exposure! ]
