He died last year ago. It's unaware how he passed, but he will be missed. There was a dedication to him following many different artists drawing the STC Incarnation of Amy Rose, stated that she was his favorite character in sonic the comic.

Will there be another Sonic the Comic con in York? Its so near me but I didn't know about the one just gone :/

it's certainly something we are looking at doing again. When it will be is all dependant on what else is going on in terms of Summer of Sonic, Western Super Sonic, and just our team as well.
So I don't want to promise anything yet, but we had such fun doing Sonic the Comic con that we definitely want to do it again in the future.
