AH, I sent you the version without the tags. ^_^;

In order to see the story, you have to buy a chance item (like a 'Choose your adventure' book but without the choices; you just hope Alfie doesn't screw up each time you hit the next button). If you're lucky, you make it all the way to the end of the story.

There were tags before you meet each character that said things such as, "Welcome to Denial" or "Welcome to Anger" which mimicked the Seven Stages of Grief. So I interpreted that Alfie was on the verge of dying and that the "white rabbit" was the girl he wanted to come home to. But quite possibly his girlfriend was dead already and because he's suffering from losing her, he doesn't pay attention on the battlefield. Didn't even think of that until you brought it up. Tons of ways to interpret this sad, sad story.

But shit, I bought four of those items just so I can find out what the fuck happens to Alfie only to realize that maybe someone already made it to the end. >__< Grrr...

Square isn't exactly known for releasing low-budget pervy anime games in the west. The ones making XIII-2 say the game will not have swimsuits and school uniforms as DLC (probably to really make it the polar opposite to X-2)

(ah man, that reminds me of Cross Edge, where you could change the girls' outfits into bikinis and school girl outfits to modify their performance in battle (their sprites didn't change clothes but their character profiles did). I pretty much had an all male team and males were denied this ability to change outfits :< although now that I think about it, I wouldn't enjoy seeing dudes in bikinis or schoolgirl outfits xDDDDD)
