# About me
From a very young age I drawing and painting, which led me to the Art Institute of Philadelphia where I studied illustration and advertising. I hoped to break into the book jacket illustration market back in the early 1990s, but economics and living in Philadelphia made it very difficult at that time. I turned to the computer and used my art design skills to become a graphic designer, which eventually led to working for advertising agencies as Sr Interactive Art Director and owning my business.Currently I have been pursuing a fine arts career by using my digital experience, photography & painting background. When I first decided to create some new pieces, I wanted to start all over again, I took several photography classes so my subjects for my digital art could have a solid foundation. I didn't want these to look like photos nor did I want them mimic a Photoshop filter, they should look like a more traditional style of art. Art that should evoke mood.
The Brandywine School of artists are my inspiration for my work. I start my artwork by using my own photography and then bring it to the computer, then I edit and run processes which give my work a painterly/stylized look. I print on archival paper, then mat and frame my work for display.
