That they do lol. I thought about being a voice actor for a while myself but I'm looking around for open opportunities. I really enjoy a lot of your work. Out of curiousity, what was your very First voice acting in animations?

In my first year of high school, I auditioned for a magical girls series on YouTube created in Microsoft Paint. The series never was released, but I loved trying out and voicing in the trailer! After that, I did a lot of work for machinimas, but didn't get into original animations until around a year and a half ago. My first actual animation was a promotion for a We Love Fine Contest last year, and my first original animation was Snowdrop. Now, I'm voicing in online-based games and other online animations and hope to do more paid work in the future! Six years, and I'm just starting to get paid for some of the voice work I do. But it's so much fun for me, even if I do get paid nothing!

I'm familiar with Moonstuck, the MLP Skifree, Double Rainboom (with Zachary Rich), and Snowdrop (SillyFillyStudios). What are you current projects that you're working on as of right now? Any of them Other MLP works?

I'll be voicing RD in Journey of the Spark, and will be in the game "Today I Become a Hero" as Claire, the protagonist. I'll also be in the game "Willow in the Wayward Woods" as Willow. That's a student-made game to help teach kids how to read. And I'm working on some other pony projects and some non-pony animations, but I'm not sure if I can tell you who I'll play there.
What else...There's an audio manga coming out soon called FLUR: Blades of the Universe. In that, I'll play Katie, the younger sister of one of the characters. It's a paid project, yay~! And lately, I've been in a webseries called Kassandra: Goddess of Awesome, where I play Helen Baskett. And I'm waiting on the release of a few comic adaptations...so many projects to wait for!

So much stuff to do! you're schedule must be jam packed with all these Voice acting roles, but i can't wait to see them. How much work would you say it is to record the lines for Voice acting?
π: 0 β©: 1
kochandpepsi In reply to OriginalityAce [2013-07-17 14:41:25 +0000 UTC]
It all depends on the project and the role! If I'm a supporting character in a ten minute long animation, it may only take me around 15 minutes to record and another 5-10 to cut lines and remove noise. But if it's a longer animation or game and I'm a lead, I may divide recording into a few hour-long sessions. Then it would take a lot longer to cut the lines. I've done long sessions and some that only took 4 or 5 minutes! Auditions are also really short, most of the time.

OriginalityAce In reply to kochandpepsi [2013-07-17 16:00:06 +0000 UTC]
So it really depends on how long the production is and how many lines you have in the production. I gotcha. How often do you find yourself looking at opportunities for voice acting auditions in projects?

kochandpepsi In reply to OriginalityAce [2013-07-17 23:13:49 +0000 UTC]
Usually every week, I can find some decent projects on the VAC or VAA. Typically, that amounts to auditioning for two or three new projects per week. Because summer classes. Otherwise, I'd be auditioning for more in the summer!

wow, weekly? I would've thought you would've been looking for voice acting stuff at much larger intervals than that X3. I'm currently working on a MLP comic myself and i thought about making it either an Audio dub or full animation like Double Rainboom or Snowdrop, but i still have a Lot to do with it before that can ever come to pass. I thought about doing a bit of voice acting myself in it. Being in charge of a big Animated production has been one of those things I've wanted to do for quite a few years now.

Well, I tend to make my To-Do lists by week, and I'm fairly picky about what I try out for. A lot of projects on those forums are usually fandubs or are headed by producers who may not know what they're getting into, and I'm looking more for higher-quality, original work. So before you start an animation, it might be a good idea to ask people who have directed before what the process was like.

i did look around a bit and am currently in the process of asking a few people, but I'm still waiting on replies from a few of them.Β It would also be good to learn a bit from fellow directors seeing as Directing is what i really want to do with my Career. But before i can get too far I still have a lot of work to do. What exactly are the website names of those forums by the way? I might take a look at them and see what people post on there.
