Sorry took a long absence... I am alright there was a lot going on. (Plus I might have gotten abducted for a time for something important.) I'll try to be around more. I have a series I really, really need to finish writing. 
The last 4 months I've been around some pretty awesome people, but had to adjust some to a new job, a new place and will be moving again. (oh may the powers save me... *sighs* but it's going to be okay I swear.)

Between getting caught up in an RP group, (They are the best!) and getting sick.. then having to switch work schedules (I'm working longer shifts now) I wasn't doing too well adjusting.. but ah I'm better now... I may be moving but I should only be off a short time once I get the move started.. (it's only about 18 miles from here)

I moved out as soon as I could be legally emancipated (Divorcing your parents) living on your own as a teen? Not easy.. but hey... sometimes it's the only thing you can do. 
I hit a lot of bad situations and have been down on my luck more than a few times... but one RV later... I had a home that I couldn't lose.
I guess I needed the freedom more than mentally/emotionaly (and one was occasionally physically) abusive parents... (Really I think of my dad as a saint, but at the same time... I'm angry he put us through dealing with the bs knowing how she was.)

My dad really is a bastard. Why? Because he purposely does things to make sure we don't do anything. 

He broke both of his ankles once (I don't remember if I told you this once) so we went through a lot of crap with that. But it also put some light on who he really was. I honestly believe my dad is cheating on my mom because 1. she found out he was looking up open houses on his phone 2. he has another woman's number in his phone (which he claims he didn't get around to deleting, though I think he was supposed to do that years ago) 3. he has everything, and I mean everything, in his name. So if he were to divorce her, he would probably get everything.

The only reason I want to leave, is because I'm sick of it. Not the area I live in, but the people I'm stuck with. I can only handle so much, and that's with a break or two. I've had none. I know I'm only 17 (become 18 this year) but I really want to go somewhere on my own. Live by myself to see how well I could fare. My mom's always been getting on my back because she thinks I would fail if I were put in the real world, but I just want to try.

I fail a lot. *laughs* it's part of the whole deal, but I fail on my own and I do okay most of the time and you know what.. we learn from it all...
My mom said I'd never be anything to anyone or amount to anything so I should stay where she can 'protect' me. the fact of the matter? Her protection included being her target for yelling, screaming, and random flying objects... 
It's better to be homeless than to tolerate some crap.. (beleive it or not it's true! At least you know you're free...)
You're almost 18 I'd wait it out.. start checking on jobs and places now, and run soon as your feet can carry you. (Also, check into 'halfway houses' some of them will take you now if you agree to finish school, etc... they help you with rent and finding a job to get on your feet.)

My mom's kinda like that. She thinks because I'm disrespectful (I honestly try not to be, but I'm just so fed up that I'm too stubborn) I'll never get anywhere in life with the way I am. I see how it would be a problem, but I never act that way outside of home. I even act that way in front of her and nothing changes. 

I'm not too sure I can move out. For one, my brother is still here and he's 18, and two, I'm really getting nervous just thinking about it. Also, aren't halfway houses used for rehabs and the homeless?

They are... then again if your home is 'hell enough' to move out with nothing... well...
Anyway, the truth is I've stayed in them, most of the time it's just people who had a bad streak of luck and trying to pull it together. A lot of rehab homes are different. 
I actually have spent most of the last several years helping people leave abusive spouses, partners, etc. Really sometimes we just do strange things to save ourselves.
Right now it's super hard to move out on your own and be on your own... especially wen you're always told you're going to fail... t's easier if you have the job already, some places will work with you on rent if they know you're working but not got that check yet.
I actually got into income based housing that way once. I had a job and the company sent a letter to my prospective landlord (at my request) saying what my income range would be... he based the income on that and I rented the place for 150/month... the deposit and first month rent split across four or five months.
((sometimes you just have to do what you have to do... living in my car was the worst!))

I'm not really sure. My dad is the main problem but most of it's from the fact I've never gotten out of the house. I get really frustrated when I'm with my family so I spend as little time as I can with them. What's worse, despite my age, I don't have a car (even though my brother does and he doesn't even know how to drive) or a job yet.

Even so, I just feel really nervous. I can barely talk to my parents let alone my mom about this sort of thing, and even if I did she would most likely say no. If that happened, I'd probably be stuck here until my 20's because I have so little faith in myself.

my best friend didn't learn to drive until 25 (No joke this was a real thing... goodness) I know the world seems impossible right now. I've been there before. I practically lived on a bus for most of a year. (Greyhound at the time) I was lucky to have enough for a type of ticket no one seems to have anymore.

Nervous... Goodness.. Tell you a secret, sometimes I'm outright terrified of the world and still convinced I'll fail! But... it's all in how you look at it...
