Hola.
Para los renders utilizo la herramienta Pluma en el Ps. Realizas un trazado con la pluma a través de lo que quieras convertir en render; cuando esté listo, das clic derecho>crear mascara vectorial (o bien, hacer selección>invertir selección y botón Supr). Después de eso repites el proceso hasta eliminar todos los espacios que tengan fondo. Cuando esté listo, guardas en formato .png para que conserve la transparencia.
El proceso puede variar según el tipo de render que quieras hacer, pero este vendría siendo el proceso común para hacer un render (o png).
