Nope, can't say I have. I don't really often get to watch movies, mostly because I don't really have too much time to spare

As for the butterfly... Yeah, I know I should manip it in some way. I got the same suggestion on my last butterfly shot too. I just don't know what to do with it though, although I just got an idea yesterday which just might work. But I'll need a lot of free time to even attempt that, as it requires some techniques I don't poses yet

Nah, a lot less work the way I did it. The model is actualy a Poser model
After posing the model, I imported it into Cinema 4D where I did the lighting, set the object hierarchies and applied the textures, all of which I created myself (most using Photoshop, some directly painted onto the model). After creating the render, I imported the model into Photoshop and started looking for a way to present the render. That kind of cost me a lot of time as well. Finaly I settled on the current design though. All in all, I guess it still took me about 16 hours to complete

Yeah, not very original, but at least it gets some of the nifty features into The GIMP. I won't write plug-ins though, as they need to be compiled and compiling/testing them for all those platforms is beyond what it's worth. It's a shame though, cause Scheme has quite some limitations

Grouping layers won't be possible without writing a plug-in for sure - I'm not even sure if it can be done with a plug-in - but layer styles should be possible. I've actualy been thinking about that a bit lately. It would be much like my Adjustment Layers, in that they'd generate separate layers for their effect. But it would allow you to update them. It will take some time for me to build a set of five style effects, but I'm pretty sure it can be done. They're on my to-do list already
