Hey man, been awhile. so i did start the lagia one, but i had to erase it cuz the stack disk was full........... turned out i made the picture the sixe of a billboard haha. neway, when are you gunna make some more monster hunter fan art, i really want to see you draw a barioth, deviljho, or alatreon! first of all, your a genius when it comes to art.
2nd i want to get started in digital art and i really like your style. what program do you use and do you draw on paper and scan it in, or do you free hand it on the computer? thanks

i definetely recommend photoshop, (its the best of what ive tried so far)its what i use for pretty much everything.
i hardly ever scan stuff, mainly because im a crap lineartist so there isnt much point XD
stuff i wished id known when starting out:

stick to using the brush tool and avoid using the dodge, blur, filters whatever, they can be a crutch and make your work look less professional.
learn how to make custom brushes, you may not need to make them regularly, but you learn a lot about how to tweak brushes which is always useful.
use layers layers layers they are the single greatest advantage over traditional even more useful than ctrl-z, dont just use them to seperate lines and colour, use the layer modes and opacity and theclipping mask!
lastly tablets: start out with a bamboo . then after your comfortable and profiecent with it (a year plus+ probably? depending on how much u use it) switch to an intuos, i love the intuos4 large, but if moneys an issue grab an intuos 3 their very similiar to 4. (remember its not what tools you have, its what you do with em) ^^

1: thank you so much. I tried a bambo two years ago and it didnt go so well. :/ I was luckily able to return it. i will definately get photoshop and the tablet again, butthe pen will get some getting used to. btw did you take lessons are did you learn it on your own.
2: what type of photoshop did you use for the lagiacrus and rathalos stuff. I really like them and i want to see if i can do what you do cuz i love MH.
3: I was wandering if u can draw a barioth with his ice tornado or eating a popo. i cannot get his face at all and ive been stuck on him for weeks..... i will let you know when i have a few mh fanarts up. we can subscribe to eachother or somethin.

nope no lessons, just drew and painted everyday, continually analyising how to improve.
i use cs4, probs should upgrade but cant really be bothered XD
probably not, at uni now and have a stupidly large work load, thats why this replies late. let me know when you get stuff up im always happy to watch another artist : )

kk thanks. i finally figured out how to draw the barioth. i plan on getting the cs4 after thanks giving. till then im gunna draw probably the barioth and the lagia. btw. for the lagia, i cannot draw it at all, is it okay if i use yours as a base and then draw it in my on perspective, like having it in the same pose and chasing cha cha???

if your a student you can sometimes get it cheaper or free, if not prate it, seriously adob dont give a fuck. like 60 -70 percent of all copies of p.s are pirated. and sure if its your own perspective

hey thanks, im gunna do my first few on the regulad cs, then after i convince my parents im dedicated, im gunna upload and edit it to cs4 and add to it, to add to my idea, im gunna show lagia jumping into the water with chacha ahead of him, its basically gunna be a fan art of monster hunter tri with the sky set a blaze, like its a sunset being seen from underwater. i also have a lot more ideas for monster hunter art and ill deff let you know when they are up.

hey, thanks for the comment, I got spaced on dvd but not the special edition which apparently has more footage and stuff (bad times). Stuff by Edgar, Simon and Nick generally I tune into, however I havent seen that new show with Nick in called Money, should check it out. Also although i dont comment or fave things much I do really like the stuff you produce!

totally agree, im afraid to say sotd is the only film i have every bought any memoribila about, classing myself as a freak,but simon was filming the tintin film that comes out next year and i think atm hes doing some show called burke and haire which is like victorian london show and then once hes done that and edgar has finished with the film "scott pilgram" (dont know full title!) he will be working on The Worlds End with simon which should complete the wicked ice cream trilogy.
