Hey my man, your stuff looks amazing. I saw you from Dave's video and I must say I am inspired to say the least. What program/s do you use to do this type of stuff and what type of brushes etc. do you use?

I just use Photoshop CC. That's basically what most people use, aside from the Pixiv community which tend to use Clip Studio.
Brushes are random ones I have collected. Getting Jamie Jones' brushes from OnePixel Brush would probably be a good start.
My only recommendation is keep it simple. At school we are made to start with default Photoshop round brushes. It's good practice. The only think you can't do with them so much is texture.
In the end it doesn't matter too much, though if it's weighing on your mind too much, just get a Computer with 8gb ram, Intuos Pro Medium, and a Photoshop CC subscription (or pirate it, I'm not the internet police).
Ballpoint pen and printer/copier paper is also really important.

Yeah, watched heaps. Also I'm studying at an entertainment design school.
Books are super good as well.
Overall it's knowledge + hardwork. Hardwork being the most important aspect.
Tutorials are useless if you don't actually do the work.
One quote I have of one of my teachers I quite like is: "Shut up and draw."
I still have lots to learn.

Sorry, too busy in the thick of student projects these days.
I live in Adelaide and study at CDW Studios. The art industry isn't very big here. At least not with concept art. We have some big VFX houses but not much for games which is what I'm gunning for. I'll probably end up moving to Canada or Europe.

Nice illustrations! Keep up the good work! Characters aren't actually really my strong point, haha.
I recommend drawing lots of full figures as that's what I see some of the great manga artists do to improve!
Just google some tutorials on gesture drawing, anatomy and figure drawing. Super useful for drawing manga.
Pinterest has some nice tutorials that are a bit more manga specific though don't just restrict yourself to that. Both are useful!
