Thank you...I too love snow. I guess so that I have become a "tom waits" fan....
"Waiting" is such a poignant emotion.....

i cant really say he has ever had a bad song. he has alot of good ones to great ones and if you follow them, he can give quite the adventure...
speaking of waiting. i ve noticed that too. i ve learned that an artist can draw out more expression and storytelling from just a person standing still then a person in full motion.

You are right...he has not had a bad song... I quite like his "all the world is green" and "walk away". The poetry in his "november" is amazing..... Love the story in his songs and of course the drawl
And you are right about the enigma of "waiting"

My favorite song was always Tom Traubert Blues. I also love Day after Tomorrow and Come on up to the House.
Actually i have too many favorites i could go on forever. someone described his songs as either Grand Weepers or Grim reapers. Since his songs touch on the other side of world.

Yes you are right.... There are too many good ones to be able to decide on any one song....But I am settled on "All the world is green"....I am a little dewy eyed I guess

yeah its hard to pick a favorite Tom Waits song. I think he's one of the few artists thats tackled every genre of music and put his own spin on it. i love it. He's a pretty good actor too. he always looks like he's in character.

his best movie roles... he plays the devil in the Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, He plays a bum in Ironweed I suggest check that out, and an insane person in Bran Stoker's Dracula pretty good film. His stand alone film would probably be one called down by law. I love that film

Yes, the narrative has the Tarantino vibe of "bloodshed with humour and wit" along with the first person narrative in the backdrop.
Django Unchained is one of my favourites

nehab16 In reply to lowes4dljn [2015-08-04 09:25:08 +0000 UTC]
Usually a good suspense plot or conspiracy theory appeal to me. Also some new take on an old scandal or event like " Inglourious Basterds" . Or courtroom and legal dramas like "12 Angry Men". Comedy too like "My Cousin Vinny".
I think I like anything that is cooked well. Even family dramas and period movie like "Osage County" go down well with me.
Only romance I am not too keen on

its hard to do a romance thats not cheesy. i think the only romance/ action that i liked was Leon the Professional. it was so awkward but it was so good.
Sorry i havent been replyingas often as i have. i ve been busy with painting and a haunted house.

Yeah.... romance can get very cheesy and overtly sweet in movies... gives me a migraine at times....
and that's ok.... the good thing about DA is that replies can wait.... .. Not an issue.
Painting is cool... would love to see your new work... but what is this haunted house

were there any exceptions?
And glad you understand lol. but this haunted house is a volunteer thing that i been going to for years. we build, paint, act, and tear down. its exhasuting. and we have four themes too wheww

nehab16 In reply to lowes4dljn [2015-08-22 07:28:44 +0000 UTC]
few exceptions I guess... "Gone with the Wind", "The French Lieutenant's Woman", "Memoir's of a Geisha", "The Duchess",and "Anna Karenina" I want to watch..... That's quite a few for a person who does not like romances.
I think sad period romances suit me well
This haunted house sounds interesting.... can you elaborate... I like good horror .... What are these four themes... Is it a theatre thing?

lowes4dljn In reply to nehab16 [2015-08-23 05:36:54 +0000 UTC]
everybody wants that sunshine happily ever after in the end. but its so far from reality sometimes we can't relate to it at all. but we keep trying no matter how stupid it sounds lol
the haunted house has four themes. deadlands which is like a cowboy theme. Steamghast asylum which is a asylum steampunk horror. alice in wonderland nad the tomb of shadows a complete in the dark theme.

It's only Anna Karenina that I still have to watch

it had an okay gameplay. but the story and visuals and soundtrack. were great. but it was the characters that i dug real heavily. you could just watch it on youtube if you had the time. i usually do that sense i don't have alot of time anymore.
