Your style...it..it looks so simple, but amazing! sheesh....I really need help, i keep comparing myself to other artists, and i think i have to have this super complicated style, then i look at yours and i'm like...i have been doing my life all wrong XD, and if that sounds like i think you are less than any other artist, i am sorry, and do not mean for it too, it's just kinda hard to word XD maybe i need to not push myself s hard when i am drawing

Sorry to bother you, but can I ask for some tips for drawing? I am very new to drawing and wish to learn how to effectively shade and add textures with shading. My main trouble, is deciding where to apply lighter parts and darker parts. I understand that on the light source, I must be lighter and add highlights, but I am rather unsure on where to add darker bits. This is for graphite drawing btw ^^. I would be full of gratitude if you were to give me a little hand. ^-^
In any case, your work is fantastic, and just keep it up. Thanks.

You're no bother at all!
Well, for example if you have a light source on the left of an object, example a cube. Then on the left hand side of the cube is lighter because it is closest to the light source. As for the darker parts it's on the RIGHT hand side because light source cannot reach that side of the cube. Here is an example ^^ [link]

Just out of interest, if it isn't too much bother, how would I go about shading, say, a face? Say if the light were to come from the right, would I make it lightest there and darker to the left? Should I also accentuate the features with shading and highlights?
