I was just having a discussion with my husband about artistic expression and how I wished I wrote more..
I get held up though cause I feel like my words are always dark and bitter..
Don't get me wrong, that can make for some great pieces (as I hope you've seen)..Β
I just am not sure how to get my thoughts to translate into the right words..

Youβre welcome.
Thereβs really nothing wrong with dark and bitter, itβs all expression anyway. Iβd say the more honest and gritty a piece is, the more real it is, and thatβs what people seem to like (I know I do). Donβt get me wrong, soft flowery poetry has its place, but real is where itβs at.
Anyway I hope you do take another crack at it. Maybe try to free-write or something, give it time and perhaps the words will come to you.
