Well, knowing him personally is a bit of an overstatement. I know him from the DigitalMedia chat here on dA, and i helped him out once with a piece of hardware i didnt need anymore.

...that reminds me, havent been to that chat in ages. Will try to remember getting him the message should i bump into him again soon. Or you could just send him a message through his profile, i'm sure he'll appreciate it.

You got some neat models here. I like it a lot, really. How much time did it take you to learn head modeling, and do use references for it?

cant really say how long it took until i could model a decent human head, i've just been trying it on and off, between other projects.
And yes, for the basic model of a human head i use front and side view reference pictures, and depending on the task at hand i stick to them more or less acurately when modeling

np. i have been trying to model a head and it was too hard. so i stick to thing that are easier to model.

Eric Maslowski has made a great series of video tutorils on how to model a human head... i highly recommend having a look at it, its quite detailed and ramnges from seting up reference pictures up to making textures and bumpmaps:

it's for 3ds max, but of course the general technique of using the reference pictures in the way Eric does will work for any 3d app. so you surely can get something out of it for yourself as well.... sorry, didnt know you use C4D, I dont have any specific C4D tutorials at hand.
