# About me

Art is as diverse as the emotions that create it. It ranges from sound and color, texture, images, movement to feelings and poetry right through to a vast spectrum of dimensions.

There' a long line of artistic ancestry in my maternal family, that dates back to the 1800's. I was always surrounded and exposed to traditional art, and painters.

I've recently started experimenting with mixed mediums, acrylic and apoxy resin top coating. Expression ranges from painting acrylic and oil to photography and sculpting. My inspirations are music, emotions, memories & color.

In old English "inspiration" is defined as "Devine guidance"...

I've used epoxy before too.  It really makes the colors pop!  What Canon are you holding in your photo?

It's a Canon 400d (which if I'm not mistaken, is the European version of the 40d.) It's my baby! I love photography as well, not the same creative outlet as painting of course.

The apoxy, i know right!, I recently discovered a new brand of apoxy that's non toxic and less complicating than before, it used to be a full operation. It makes a painting more costly to produce but I find the end result simply amazing.  Do you still use it?

I have the 40D too!  Even though it's an older model, it is still a very good, capable camera.  10 mp are fine for most jobs.  Funny how we are both into abstract and photography.  I feel like you're a kindred spirit!

My ex used to do the epoxy for me, but I wouldn't mind doing it myself.  What new brand are you using?

A neat trick to try, if you're interested:  put joint compound (hardware store, it's like plaster) on the canvas and let it dry.  Paint over it.  It makes really great texture.  It's my trade secret.  I've never seen anyone do it besides me.

I agree with you, we are kindred spirit!

The brand is Gédéo by Pébéo. It takes a bit longer to dry so you don't have to work crazy fast.  I sign my paintings over the epoxy now, using a glass relief outliner it's different.

I'm definitely trying your trick, I normally use modelling paste. I think your technique might give similar effect but less expensive.

I'm thinking of trying something different with epoxy, I want to try glass painting over epoxy coated canvas.  I haven't seen it done yet, not sure it'll work.... We'll see.
