I just read a comment of yours at Igo´s, ´bout the tablet stuff.
Fer outlinin with a tablet you use a soft 5 pixel brush (or smaller, depends on the resolution of what you scanned) on a own layer.
Fer colouration use a hard tip fer the ground coat, soft tips fer highlights and shadows!
And now... DRAW!!!
