# About me
Hello everybody, I'm Mat.I'm a complete beginner and am trying to improve my general art ability as well as my understanding of Photoshop, after effects and other programs.
I recently watched a TED Talk where an illustrator described how he drew a picture every day for 100 days, uploading each one to his blog as he went. It was really inspiring and encouraged me to get over the terror of having your stuff judged.
I have always been blown away by the quality of work on DeviantArt, and assumed that no community of artists this good could have any time to look at, comment on, or offer guidance to a complete newcomer. However, it's good to have a purpose, so I've decided to create a profile on here with one single aim: Get Better.
So I'll be uploading everything I create to this profile as a way of measuring my progress. Most of them end up terrible, while others begin to approach something at least recognizable.
If anybody is reading this, I'd appreciate it if you could give me a kick up the backside if I get lazy, or stop trying.
I've selected Hobbyist as my level, since there was no 'beginner' option, and apart from an Art GCSE (at which I received an F grade), I didn't train at all. I'm sure this shows.
