# About me

You are reading the bio of comic book artist/illustration kiddo Michael Kennedy.Producing images and stories is what i want to do so if you want more than a penciller then you have came to the right place. A pop culture and art junkie, I have a great many influences and I hope my portfolio shows for it.

I am on a gap year prior to studying visual communications at Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD). mainly working on short scripts on top of ongoing collaborations and creating my own projects which are worth a look if you want further insight into my unresctricted creativity.

"Thats a lovely grubby inking style you've got there, with some very solid draughtsmanship underneath...many other details show that you really know what you're doing here."

not probs...

what they do is pair up writers and artists together...in my case they liked the story and have now passed it on to an artist.....so it probably works the other way around for artists i.e you send some pages in and if they like your work they keep you on file and then send you a script to do the artwork for it..

the best thing to do if your considering sending some stuff over to them in an email and await a response....even if they don't like the stuff they will generally get back to you with some solid critique of your work...which is honest and on the whole helpful.

just remember that any critique is just a point of view and never take it personally.i did this the first time somebody critiqued my work...but have now learned to read it and then think on it a while....as your first reaction is to defend the hard work you have put in to a project....but if you just give it a little time to settle you can usually see their point...even if you don't necessarily agree with it...always believe in your own ability but never be afraid to take on board some one else s views.

as for your second point...i'm a writer...I ALWAYS NEED AN ARTIST!!!!!

if you would like me to i can send you the 3 future shock scripts i turned in for 2000ad..2 of which came back with the thanks but not at this moment response....the 3rd must be still floating about as it hasn't returned yet.....

ho-hum.....i'll be starting the next one on monday...aint got a clue what it will be about....but that's generally the way things run for me.

any way,have a great weekend...

all the best,

JJ
