Hey, I just wanted to say that you're a great writer! I love your fan-fiction, "Revenge of the Joker". I read it all and thought it was amazing. Really got me in the feels, and the ending was so sweet.. I cried.
One of my favorite parts was when they found Robin in the house of mirrors. The fear and panic he was already experiencing, building up to another breakdown and state of being so lost, only to be found by his friends was sad.. yet heartwarming that his friends never gave up on him.
Sometimes I think it can be hard to rap up a story, but you the way yours ended was great. I like how it ended with Robin.. in peace, holding onto the good. How even though he wasn't completely healed, he could have a moment of comfort and love. How light, love and peace could replace the darkness, fear, and torment.

Hey there, I want to apply for SCAD the coming fall and I'm about to begin the application process. I know portfolio is not a necessity exactly but I need a good one to maximize the chances of getting a scholarship. Could you please help me with that? Can you tell me what all should I put up and what is exactly required to get a decent scholarship?

Just put your best work! It doesn't have to be tailored to your specific program (for example, if you wanted to go for illustration, it doesn't have to JUST be illustrative work. You could put in photos, sculpture, writing, comics, collage - whatever you feel showcases your artistic strengths!). They will judge it just based on your potential and your drive and passion. They're understanding that not all high schools or towns have art programs for kids to attend (that's the main reason why they don't require a portfolio for admission), so they're pleased to see that you have an eye for art even if your skills are not 100% down yet. So yeah... just put in your best work! Quality over quantity for sure.
SCAD has changed their criteria since I applied. They call it achievement scholarship rather than artistic scholarship now, so I think evidence of community service, letters of recommendation, and that stuff can definitely help you in that regard. I'm going to go to SCAD atlanta. How is the Savannah district?

Savannah's a lot better, in my opinion. The Atlanta campus is smaller, self-contained in the middle of a huge urban area. It's still a great school, but I love SCAD Savannah. 8000 students, 70+ historic buildings in the middle of one of the largest and most beautiful historical districts in the country. More majors available too. What major are you interested in?

I like Atlanta more. I prefer busy metro environments. I'm going to be a game design major. I'm going to try to minor in animation or illustration.

Savannah is still very busy and city-like. Downtown is actually often used by Hollywood to be New York City when they're too cheap to actually film in New York City (The CGBGs movie with Alan Rickman was here a year ago). There's always a ton of awesome stuff going on here, and you don't have to drive across town to get to it. I'd definitely recommend at the very least take a quarter here (I recommend Fall quarter) and see it for yourself. I mean, there's a reason why the majority of SCAD is in Savannah. They don't seem to be expanding Atlanta as fast as they are expanding Savannah - we just got another new building and the Animation building is getting more awesome professors.

I don't know..I might just be unable to attend the Savannah location b/c I'm going to live with my stepsis and bf and he'll probably end up at Perimeter or GSU near Atlanta ish and my stepsister is content in staying here. The Atlanta location seems fine so hopefully I won't be missing out on amazing professors. I heard that some of the professors don't know jack shit how to teach so I really hope I get to choose mine, esp for my major.

Yeah that is a factor as well. The Savannah location also has 4x as many students so even when the professors aren't entirely sure, there are plenty of students around to mingle, collaborate with and learn from. I really can't say how Atlanta is for all that, but SCAD, in general, is a very fantastic school. You should let me know how it goes!

We found really stellar voice actors. For example, if you ever watch Epic Pie Time, we have the same voice actress for Pinkie Pie. The girl we found for Twilight Sparkle TOTALLY sounds like her, it's insane!

I go to SCAD right now, in Savannah. And here's the thing -- I chose SCAD over Calarts because, frankly put, I like SCAD more. I really do. Yeah, Calarts is the Harvard of animation, but just because you went to Yale or Brown instead doesn't mean you got any less of an education or aren't going to make it in the industry. That's B.S.
For example, 30% of Pixar is SCAD. :3 Rumor has it one of John Lasseter's kids is a sculpture student here.
