As much as I think this is a bad idea, do you still play D&D? I want to try it, to see where fantasy and role playing games started. I made a character, but...person who helped me threw my guy into a mission when I wasn't there. He got torn to pieces.

Yeah we usually play about once or twice a month, but my friend has been busy lately so we haven't really played since summer started. We'll start up again in September.

I don't think I'd like playing with a DM who killed off my character when I wasn't even there. If there's a comic book shop or game store where you live you should check their bulletin board to see if anybody is looking for players. My friends met 5 or 6 pretty good people that way (and a couple people who didn't work out, but they can't all be winners.)

If you get a good group it can be a lot of fun. Especially if the DM is willing to roll with people's ideas.
