Hey I love looking at your work! You are a great photographer, so do not give up no matter what anyone says.

I know it can be tough to be on here for five years and not get the attention you wanted...but look at all your watchers, even if they do not comment or favorite does not mean that they do not support you, they still look at your stuff, because in fact THEY but you up for a deviant watch.

Just keep at it, the harder you work at something, (No matter what or where it is) You will be noticed sooner or later. It might be a hard long road on DA but I agree with you, if you are getting the most attention on Flickr then that is where you should put most of your energy.

I will still be looking forward to seeing your photography being posted on here, whatever you do never give up, stay positive, and love your work

Sincerely,
Jeana

thanks!

No, never give up on my photography, it keeps me almost sane. Just gotta get things moving in the professional world. I now understand why they call them 'disabilities' as if i were healthy and had made the commitment to become a full time photographer, then i could share the wealth.

As it is, I am fighting a huge battle to begin with, just trying to become a professional photographer, then to be ill at the same time just makes it more frustrating and a bigger mountain to climb. I love to clime mountains.

I suppose over the years I've been disappointed at a few things here on dA. I had expectations that things would be more about art and less about social issues. I haven't, so far, been able to steer a conversation towards my camera in the photography chat rooms. And I have little in common with the chatter and try to say witty things to get things hopping... but I have social sites for all that. Facebook, myspace plaxo.

I will continue to post work here as it is my business site and where i sell prints (when I sell them. I've only sold three prints to non-me customers) And need to be in a great frame of mind for my upcoming booth at the Kerrville Folk Festival. It will be a great opportunity for me in many ways

I know my watchers watch me and I do understand people don't have time, i know i don't, to respond to all the art in a manner that it deserves.

Take care, I have many more pics to upload and I'm way behind so... watch out! :hugs:

THANK YOU!

You are most welcome And have fun at the festival!

As for the social talks on DA I find them rather odd in the chat rooms, I too feel odd when people do not talk to me hahaha.

Have an awesome day
Sincerely,
Jeana

I am not a huge fan of her work except here are some bizarre 'coincidences"
1) I have pain that goes from where her rod entered her body to where the rod exited the body. so far no doctor can find a cause for this strange and unusual pain. They are bewildered. So am I.
2) Before I began painting, I was in my 1920's period bathtub when i had a vision for a painting that would be awesome playing with the levels of the reflections in the water. Although the painting wasn't exactly like Frida's (in my mind) it was so similar with the water spicket, I have a scar in the same spot on the same foot it was the same painting only different enough and before Frida had even become a name in the art world. I so wish i'd painted but you'll have to take my word.

after reading her biography, i had chills on more than one occasion at how much alike we are, even down to me being the only brown eyed child in a family of tall blue-eyed red haired folks, second I had a uni-brow that would have challenged hers any day, but I've plucked it out for so long it is now a fraction of the beauty it once was.

All this because so many people like to compare my work to Frida's. Not in style, but in the ability to pull out the deepest of emotions that pain brings to the surface and putting those on canvas. It was after seeing her work live in NYC in 99 that I began to paint, it would have been too late to paint my bathtub painting, even if i do still see it in my head.

Thakns for listening to my strange tale. I got the feeling her house was full of feeling, emotion when i saw a tour on the DVD set. WOW THANKS one day i'll get there!

Wow, I just read your story and you're right, there are some many coincidences. Its great that you're able to transform pain into art, although I'm sorry to hear that you're in pain, I hope you get better soon.

I wish you could come to Mexico some day soon, i'm sure you'll love it.
