I grew up in "suburban life"...rancho palos verdes, a suburb of Los Angeles with a land value higher then Beverly Hills.
I think that's what shaped my view...going from U.S. suburban culture right into Chinese/Taiwanese city culture with no segway what-so-ever.
Kinda like learning to swim by jumping in the pool.
BTW, I wish I could come up with an appropriate response to your kind compliments (and as an English teacher I should be able to) but all I can think of is "thank you", which isn't enough.

That's crazy! I'd never have the guts to switch surroundings so suddenly and drastically. It was tough enough going from one side of PA to another.

Actually, I went to a college much like yours and somewhat closer to you, too. Hiram College in Hiram, OH...a very small liberal arts school surrounded by Amish country. The nearest civilization was Garottsvile, a 7 mile drive away...not convinient if you're from out-of-state and don't have a vehicle
Moving from one side of PA to the other is okay so long as you make time for a stop in Hershey.

Thanks! There were nearly a dozen of these gorgeous balloons flying right over my house. One even landed in my backyard. It was really neat! I couldn't resist running outside and snapping a few shots. I'm glad you like them!!!
