I miss you as well. I know I haven't been online in a while, or talked to you in a while, I'm very sorry. I was just on MSN but you aren't on, so I signed off due to like 40 other messages from people whom I didn't feel like talking to. Hey dude. I was just a little interested about the post you made on the darkthrone website.
I like Black Metal. But i am not an inept dumbass who likes it because all it does is curse god.
I like Black Metal mainly because its the most raw sounding un-commercialised music that i could find.
I started out listening to gothic and true industrial (The Cure, Einsturzende Neubauten) but it became too commercialised. You know. the dreaded sell-out virus that almost all musicians contract.
Then i started onto Death Metal. Bloodbath. Amon Amarth. Strapping Young Lad. Death.
But i found this sound far to studio produced. far to Glam for me.
Then i found Black Metal. it took me while to get used to things like the stripped down basic instruments and the poor recording quality.
But really you start to look past those things and simply enjoy the music.
Black Metal isnt about putting on Corpse Paint and cursing Jesus. Its about music. Just like Slayer.

Wow, appanretly that comment is still on that communities page, that was awhile ago, i'm surprised. In response to your comment that not all black metal is about being "satanic" "atheist" whatever they want to qualify themselves as (i couldn't tell you beacuse i find so many bands claiming to not believe in god and yet hating a being they proclaim not to believe in, or claiming to be satanic". Granted the concept behind black metal is not only hating god, I realize I can't say that because I haven't heard every black metal band and i'm sure there's some out there that aren't. The point being, teh majority of death metal bands are, if you look at bands such as rotting christ, with lyrics such as the following on one of hteir cds.

A lot of black metal/death metal bands, whichever genre you choose to discuss, focus upon the unholy, a lot focus on the lyrical structure of degrading religious people and discussing killing them, along with speaking upon which can be considered blasphemy. While I myself am not a religious person and do not agree with religion, I don't agree with the fact that religious people should be killed. Nor do I agree with lyrics based on degrading my god and criticizing someone for beliefs in which they choose to have. You and every other person claims that it has nothing to do with satanism, atheism, blasphemy, unholiness, i ask you to open your eyes. If you go to a website based on black metal, what will you see? Pentagrams, upside down crosses, are you to tell me these aren't symbols that represent unholiness and are meant to show that they don't believe in god and christ? The band in which you are defending has lyrics that are based on what can be considered satanic, unholy lyrics, or whatever title you choose to give them. In the following song that I will show you, "black winged" off of the darkthrone cd "total death", it says clearly "to do the devils work", and then "remind your worthless god", " i will rape your souls". What great lyrics, I can see the lack of satanic attributes (sarcasm of course). The song goes as followed,

I believe it is every individuals right to believe what they want to believe, but I would bet money on the fact that if these bands were singing lyrics based on god and christ and love, they wouldn't attract much of an audience. It is based on people who care to listen to htem because of their hatred, because of their hatred and disbelief for god and the criticism for Christ which is so common. Go and look up the lyrics for the total death cd by darkthrone and you tell me that it's not at all about satanism or the hating of christ and god and the followers. You say it isn't about degrading Christ, i strongly disagre, if you want to continue to argue, i can go ahead and do more research and find more bands. I don't object to the listening of the music itself, but when a band stands for hatred and wishes death upon people simply for their belief, what kind of a piss poor band is that? If those people want to disagre with the idea of their being a god and a messiah, that is their right, but it is much more than them expressing their opinions. It is them bashing upon the believers, wishing death upon them, wishing death upon christ (which they may or may not believe in, but they still will hate no matter what, cause it doesn't have to make sense), wishing death upon mary, talking about raping Christians, talking about killing Christians. Don't get me wrong, I listen to metal, I just choose to get away from all the mindless crap that most people focus their attention on. Regardless of whether you just listen to it for the music like you proclaim, that it's all about the music, or not, the point being, darkthrone, black metal bands, tehy have negative lyrics which go against the good things in life. Slayer isn't just about the music either, the new cd has appealed to more teenagers because the theme is hating god, which is completely stupid and contradicitng because tom araya himself has faith in God.

I will never quit writing, believe me, that isn't the reason why i'm leaving DA. I'm glad you enjoyed my poems so much, and as i've told others i will still continue to write and whomever wants to see them still just has to send me a note with their email and they will get to continue seeing them, just in email form instead of Da's.

my my reading through your poems i had the feeling that i have seeen this way of writing before. yeah chuck used to write like this and max cavalera and few others. And i must admit you could supply all bay area scene with your lyrics. i call them lyrics cause they are written in such manner and it shows perfectly where you stand and what kind of music you listen to.
now you have got amazing vocabulary. and a perfect style to match words. its more like machine not human, they are generated more than written. crafted. artificially produced. i nearly hear burton c bell scream them on a new fear factory album.
i wish there was actually a band near you that would use the lyrics. on a lyrical part you get 10/10 note. Keep up the good work! greetings from a fellow down/pantera fan
