# About me
"In this world of ever greater connectivity,we have to learn a sort of charity and tolerance.
We have to learn to tolerate, when people say things that we don't like, and if we are to live together and not die together, this sort of tolerance is absolutely vital to the continuation of the human species on this planet."
Bertrand Russell, when asked if there was anything he wished to impart to the younger generation.
Love is wise, Hatred is stupid.
Project only love
and
the future will prove it

Hey,
Thanks right back!, and for the watch too.
I like your stuff because your forms seem to have a very heavy massive look,
until you see the edges of the metal and realize the metal is actually thin.
the best example of this is "Atalanta 01 FINISHED"
but I faved Freya because
It shows this heavy style with such a beautiful patina.
keep up the good work.

Thank you so much. What you said about the simultaneous perception of heaviness and thinness is one of the things I love so much about working with sheet steel.

nice scupting. In what scale do you usually work?
I especially like the female shapes you've got here

Thanks for the fav and comments, this piece looked better
when the clay was wet, I let it dry out and it shrank
alot. I've only done smaller scale 18" max, but I'm trying
to go bigger, working on 1/2 lifsize now, hope to get bigger
and bigger as I go.Thanks again.

your welcome. & thank you. the fish were done in a series of various drawings of my, now deceased, goldfish. each one got a little more otherworldly. the drawings are old, from 1995?? the nude studies are drawn from an incredible & very valuable series of reference titled, "Virtual Pose". the books are filled with some well photo graphed nude models, male/female. the models are shot on a 360degree rotating platform so each pose has 6 - 8 photos of different perspectives. and, the books come with a cd for the computer, the disk has all of the poses from the book but now you can rotate the pose to get even more perspectives. ingenious. i love and am inspired by the female form. the curves and soft lines that make up the form are nice challenging to draw. it has been said that the human form is one of the most difficult things to draw.

I have learned anatomy from amature porn and arty photography, the un-enhanced bodys are distintive and vary more than art school models, although the teaching models do provide me with a normal baseline. Unlike you, I cannont draw animals very well. For me the bodys came first the faces much more difficult and animals I draw just somehow turn out like crap, probably just havn,t practice enough on them, human females excite my brain more so I find it easier to practice them. I see interesting female faces all the time but cannot hold the memory of them long enough to get them down on paper. hince the increased difficuly. I wish I could take pictures but in this day and age I worry about seeming pervy. Thanks for the info on your work

we artists that love to draw the human figure do what we can to find reference material. i have to admit that i have scanned through porn sites for nude images... i stopped for the virus possibility on the computer. i have the same problem with seeing many faces but never remembering exactly how they looked. i don't think that an innocent photo or two could be considered perverted. as long as you get permission i don't see any harm, plus you could tell the person that you intend to use the photo as a drawing/sculpture/painting reference, most females really get intrigued when they hear that and who knows what possibilities may come of it. if not that, then carry a portfolio and sketchbook so they know your serious... back when i would frequent the bar scene, i would bring my sketchbook and a pencil or two and find a good vantage point of the bar & then sit & draw. do some quick gesture drawings, this was something that my sculpture teacher suggested. at a bar or pub, a person will move so many times a minute. so, you could get a number of quick gesture drawings. a good exercise. and i don't recommend drinking while drawing because, from experience, the drawing loses something and you may not draw so well after emptying two or three beers. remember, control & seriousness. eventually people in the bar/pub will take notice of what you are doing. some may ask you to do a portrait. if they do, ask them to buy you something to eat while you sit and draw them, you might even get the chance for a photo of them.
drawing animals... it's just how i approach anything that i draw, i'm a perfectionist and will work the drawing until i get it to be as close to realistic as i can... i love detail. i begin with seeking the basic shapes or forms within the whole. then, like carving a block of wood or stone, i start pecking away at the basic shapes until i get the more detailed drawing. speaking of which, i am off to the drawing table.

Good advice thank you. Yeah, I am quite impatient and lazy, thats why I mostly draw only sketches, if I'm going to put a lot of time into something, I want something solid to show for it, thats why I like stone: carve, polish and your done, no molds, no casting, no wait, but you can't do in stone what you can with Plastasine or clay. Good luck on your drawings. Please let me know when the're posted. oh I guess thats what the watches are for huhn?

is guess patience came to me by chasing & wanting detail in my drawings/works. i've yet to work with plastacine. i have to out the pencils down for awhile & work on some sculptures. i notice that when i work in the 3D realm & complete 3-5 pieces or fulfill my sculpture craving when i go back to drawing it improves. my philosophy is that the drawing improvment is enhanced from working in 3D...
look forward to seeing more of your work.
seek out your muse & keep on creating...
