yeah, it's definitely tiring already! I'll be starting counseling soon, but my mum (who I'm really close to) really seems to not want me to transition fully. I've thought for a while that maybe I'm just gender neutral, but after doing more reading and research and reflection, I really want to move forward! So yeah, I'm still pre everything also.

I'm attending grad school in the fall at a school that has a really great Trans* program through their Med School. So I'm hoping to be able to begin therapy through them, then I can go to a school Endo and get HRT through them. I haven't come out to my parents yet - though I'm pretty sure they know. I'm just waiting for the right moment. I attempted to come out when I was identifying as genderqueer, but I got shot down via an innocent comment that sounded pretty f*cked up, so I haven't tried again since.

Yeah, my mum always has questions for me about genderqueerness and trans* issues that puts me off!

That's really cool that there's a trans* program. They may not be able to write you an official letter of recommendation though, but I'm sure for basic therapy they would be a good (and inexpensive) resource. What are you going to be studying?

They actually can give me an official letter, which is nice. And the insurance plan I'm getting covers everything - therapy, hormones and even top surgery, as long as I use the doctors the school provides. I'm studying Higher Education Administration, with a concentration on LGBTQ Studies, which will allow me to work in LGBTQ resource offices at universities and help LGBTQ/questioning college students discover and develop their identities.

I've got a passion for LGBTQ student organizing. I did it during all of my undergraduate career and am working for the LGBTQ office at my grad school now. The offices can do so much good, and programming for LGBTQ students helps to educate so many and can make people feel like they aren't the only L/G/B/T/Q/etc person out there. It's a budding field, so I'm hoping to get into it and make my mark!

That's really awesome - I did a ton of organizing for my high school GSA. My college is pretty much one big GSA haha.
