First, fantastic job on the cards. These are some of the best customs I've seen. 2nd, myself and many other players are intrested in sets of both the Marvel & DC cards. Have you printed them and are they available for purchase?

Glad you like them, but unfortunately the printing process for entire sets would be time- and cost-prohibitive. And I for sure wouldn't have the artists' permission to sell the cards.

Hey, i was just wondering when the new marvel expansion was coming. I have gone through withdrawals and the stages of grief like 8 times since you had new cards like a year ago. I'm going to go cry now haha.

I am slowly but surely still working on writing up all the Specials. So far have most of the Any-Characters and 11 of the 50 new characters done. Plus the previous 50 are each getting a new Special (which are mostly done), and I'm also currently trying to figure out how I want to present Missions and Events. Can't make any promises, but I'll likely be able to start posting new cards within the next... couple months? It's a very involved process and I am just one guy after all. Be patient.

Nostalgic memories of the OverPower game have been creeping back for me. I used to slap together homemade cards with MS Paint back before the turn of the millennium, and now.... I stumble upon this. Can you tell me how to make my own custom cards? I have NO experience with Photoshop or the like.

Oof, sorry. If you haven't ever used Photoshop, I don't think I could help you. I'll eventually get around to posting my template icons and whatnot, but a full tutorial isn't something I really have the time for. There are a few more guys on the forums who make custom cards however...

These are amazing. I have been playing op for twenty years and used to have thousands of homemade cards until my computer crashed. Keep up the good work. Any plans to do the rest of the guardians of the galaxy and teen titans like raven and beast boy?

Found my Deadpool Marvel Max comics, and I have an idea for a Marvel ally character: "Hydra Bob". XD And if you're not familiar with him, you'll probably mirror my emoticon when you do read the first trade of that series. Hilarious!! I would say Hammerhead would be decent as a character, but he'd probably be better suited as a special for a Maggia team character card.

Oh ya, I know Hydra Bob. He'd be perfect as an Ally card. I think someone like Hammerhead would be too, because I don't know if he's quite worthy of his own dedicated Character, and I doubt I'll get around to a Maggia Character. Tombstone, there's a guy I could see doing up as a 15 or 16 point Character with 6S.

I've thought about posting the icons separately since I've had multiple requests for them now. But it'll take some time to get them into some sort of presentable order. And I'd have to make some more, as there are holes (in the higher values like 10, 11, 12). Not a priority right now, but probably after I'm done the DC Core Set.

A few quick questions: I'm under the assumption you're implementing character identities and team memberships into your sets with the icons and identities in the lower left corners of the character cards? Kinda like what VS System did? Would these be used in the same sense as the "H" and "V" icons in DC? Is there a downloadable template you got to make these or are you doing this on your own in Photoshop, Paint, etc.? Keep up the good work. Wish my custom Street Fighter, Masters of the Universe and Ninja Turtles sets were close to this caliber.

Check out my journal for rundowns on Affiliation and Identity. The former is meant to expand the game in ways the DC H and V codes never really did, and the latter is meant to clarify a lot of confusion and allow for all those characters with the same name to show up in a way that's clean and unambiguous (like all the Flashes, Green Lanterns, Robins, etc.) And yes, I made all the icons myself in Photoshop. Heavily modified from already-existing images, mostly.

So I just read it. That does shed some light on your mechanic. It's pretty much the way VS System dealt with identities and teams. I don't know if you're familiar with that game, but you usually had a deck built around a team and that was always the best foundation to run with. So, I'm guessing a clone like Beta Ray Bill in your game is going to get his own specials in addition to Thor's? Also, how would you tackle Azrael as Batman? Is it going to be a Batman character card with Jean-Paul Valley as the identity, or is it going to be a Batman or Azrael variant? I only put that example up there specifically because that was what the Knightfall saga centered around with Valley struggling between his Azrael and Batman identities. There's plenty of others that do the same thing, but that's the one that springs to mind. Would alternate realities still get a variant card like Age of Apocalypse characters? Just making sure I'm reading you right.
Still, great to see such care taken to bringing OverPower back. I'd love to see your format applied to a He-Man card. If I remember right on the one I did back in '99-'00, I gave him 4-7-7-3 and no IA.

Beta Ray Bill won't be a clone of Thor anymore, he'll just have his own cards. Same goes for just about every clone in the game. I always thought they were an incredibly lazy way to add new characters. There may be a few that I keep as clones, characters that aren't particularly well-developed (Doppelganger springs to mind). But most of them deserved better.
Azbats would be called Batman, just with Jean-Paul Valley as his identity, the same way I'd write up Dick as Batman. But honestly I don't know if it's worth including Azbats, because he was only Batman for a very short period of time. Also, I'm just reluctant to dredge up old '90s characters, as it was my least favorite period in superhero comics, and it's especially difficult to find good artwork of those characters. But from what I hear, the classic Azrael is back in the current comics, so he still might make an appearance (just not in the Core Set).
As for other variants, like Age of Apocalypse versions of characters, I honestly don't think most of them are different enough to warrant inclusion. Certainly not characters like Colossus and Wolverine. Shadowcat is one I could see doing, or Magneto without an 8 because he was considerably less powerful. I don't think I'd bother with the old clunky naming structure though. For example, a '90s variant of Rogue with Carol Danvers' powers would just be called "Rogue." A black-costumed Spider-Man would just be called "Spider-Man." They would have the same Identities, denoting you couldn't play both versions on the same team. They'd just have different stats. Because honestly, why not?

It's frankly too cost-prohibitive. There's going to be around 400 cards in just the Marvel core set, and same goes for DC.
