Hello,
You should now one thing when submitting your signaturs to deviantart. Deviantart is a place where you submit YOUR art. So when you use a picture from some original manga, some other artist, from some anime or a comic you should inform people that you are not the one who drew/painted the picture which you used.
When you don't do this people will think that the drawings of characters you use for making your signatures were created/painted/sketched by you. And therefor you should inform them that you didn't make the pictures which you used for creating the siggies because then it could happen that someone will accuse you of art theft.
If you use materials which are downloaded from the net or scanned you should clearly say that you didn't create them and that you only manipulated, edited them. This is clearly stated in the DA rules. If you have a link to the original, not edited (by you) image which you used it would be proper and fair to put it in your autors' comment so that people in the future don't feel as if they were cheated on - because as far as I can see this is not your purpose ^^
So please, next time when you use a drawing from a manga/anime/whatnot write that under your deviation so that you can avoid problems in the future.
Also you could think about a better category - for example in web interfaces or designs for your signatures because you didn't draw them - toy used them as a material for signatures so they are now more of a stock than drawings ^^

Please, don't take me wrong, It's just that I have a lot of spare time and heavily browse thourgh DA and since I know how people can flame one I just wanted to give you that one tip. I see too many people making whole argument and pulling out wrong accusations and stuff. So I just wanted to point this out so you never will have to face such a unpleasant situation. Hope my advice was right
