Well, it takes a lot of practice and so as observing. Try to mimic the cg hair. It will help a lot. And remember to color the hair by stroke. Then it will turn out pretty.

I tried it; I think it rather works well! (In here, I did. [link] ) But when you sketch, you just draw the hair border lines and use color pencil to add the strokes, right?
