Platypus12: I can understand, though, why it's important to you to make a race's technology a distinguishing feature. I, myself, may have some of my races specialize on technology that runs on different types of energy other than electricity if it's not organic.

That's actually a very good question. I'd like to think the nedals/Aurora Nation had access to special materials as they were incorporating more technology into their budding pre-space age societies, so they wouldn't have ever needed to create 'regular' technology in the first place. BUT I honestly don't know enough about technology to try and invent such plausible special material. :I
So I think it's more likely that Aurora DID invent 'regular' tech at first, but it later became obsolete once blobby morphing 'roblob' technology became commonplace.

I do wonder, though, why the Igneous Nation didn't adopt that sort of technology some time after they met the Aurora Nation, if it's probably so much more convenient that ordinary technology, unless they're more comfortable using the technology they've relied on up until that point. Or is it simply to make it so that the Aurora Nation's morphy technology is more unique?

Basically both!
The in-universe reason why Igneous (and Chloro) Nations don't use morphing 'roblob' technology as much is because using as much of it as Aurora does would basically mean restructuring their ENTIRE civilizations. Entire cities across many planets would have to demolish and rebuild their factories, vehicles, homes, infrastructure, etc in order to switch over to roblob technology. Because that's WAY too big of a task, and the tech that Igneous and Chloro use is just as good, them adopting roblob tech on a wide scale just isn't necessary (though both use it on a smaller scale, because culture exchange).
And yeah! I do want Aurora Nation's tech to be unique from the others! It helps make them stand out from the others.
