# About me
I'm a civil servant based in Gloucestershire, with a sideline in unplugged games design - miniatures games, roleplay games, boardgames and card games. As well as my own designs, I work freelance in what free time I have remaining. I also paint, draw and write occasionally.# Comments

Great work friend! You inspire me to finish my own Infinity! Keep up the excellent painting!

I think it was you suggesting to use some putty to seal off the edges i get from using cork plates as a basing material. Even though some effects might be overdone, i think i got the base right! I would love to hear your point of view

It was, and that looks great! The "slab" effect of less crumbled pieces of cork is still good, but it helps to mix things up with a bit of variety.

I really appreciated that idea and I am so happy i used that extra time to make them look like this! Let's see how i can bring in the second part of your advise on the other hand, that desert is an empty one... So not much to see there, hence not much variety

I'd love to see more minis from you. Β It's a very "realistic" look you give them that I'd like to learn from.

The trick is, to spend inhumanly long on each model.. heh. This, is also why I never had an army

I feel your pain. Β That's why I love Infinity. Β It really rewards attention to a single mini and you only need a handful for an army.

I haven't played much since it was called rouge trader to be honest. I just love painting and converting them. And the fluff of course. Play the odd game of blood bowl, and the very odd test of whatever new rules there are at the local GW once in a blue moon. And that's about it. Haven't played anything since I moved from the UK though.

No, I'm really not. I am, according to the official data, just inside the top fifth of painters. Which I reckon entitles me to call myself "better than average" at best.
I love all your spaceships, though. I saw they were from Shapeways. Are they your own work, or is someone out there selling prints of the EveO ships? Also, how do you find Full Thrust?
π: 0 β©: 1
Karlosrolero In reply to precinctomega [2015-03-30 18:29:13 +0000 UTC]
Then I am below average? T__T Just kidding. My EvE ships were made by myself but I dont have the files, I deleted them by mistake in a formatting but I made a tutorial on how to make them.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqNK8Gβ¦
I dont make em anymore because I stopped playing and deleted the game but maybe it helps. Also, Full Thrust is easy to find, theres a lot of places and it is mostly free.
Heres the official page I think you can download them here:

Hope I helped!
Cheers, Karlos.

I appreciate your appreciation.
There are a lot of miniature painters I follow on dA not necessarily because their work is spectacular, but because they show promise, a desire to learn and improve and an interest in the wider miniatures-painting community. Β I look forward to seeing how your work develops.

Thank you really much for the support!Β
It is a bit of a problem that i only can make some stop-and-go painting, with a break every now and then...and that throws me back every time i start again...Β

I really want to buy some of your casts. Β But I'm being strict with myself when it comes to buying new minis. Β I have to paint all my current collection and either put them in a proper display cabinet or sell them. Β So far,Β

Have you made any minis for the games you have designed yet?

precinctomega In reply to RageofAchilles [2014-06-19 20:40:12 +0000 UTC]
HorizonWars is the finished version of MechaWar, which was written for the use of generic mech minis. Β I got a good relationship with EM4 Miniatures who make sure-cheap plastic mech minis.
makes the miniatures for which I'm writing his game, Iron Core. Β Which has some love big plastic mech minis for it.
I started to commission miniatures for a fantasy skirmish game I wrote, called Skrapyard, but it became too expensive to proceed on limited funds. Β I dream of the day I can do my concepts justice in miniatures form (check my gallery "Skrapyard" for details).

Nearly three decades behind the brush, now. Β I wouldn't describe myself as "high level", though. Β I'm barely inside the top 20% on Coolminiornot.
