# About me
My name is Puteri Noor and I was Born 1970 in Malaysia. I'm a self-thought artist and have been painting batik since 1985. With the experience of over two decades, I have made numerous batik paintings using different kind of techniques in creating my batik art. I use tjanting and wax as tools to create my batik paintings. Wax is an excellent resist as it gives sharp lines and holds the dyes back very well. Batik painting is creating art on fabric, with fabric materials as its canvas. Batik painting can be done on different surfaces, with or without control, in styles ranging from intricate to free form. I use a traditional wax applicator known as tjanting which is used to let the hot wax flows through it as to create a resist in batik cotton paintings. Once the painting is done, then it will be followed by the process of removing wax from the fabric and this will leave the cotton painting with the combination of beauty and unique in its own way.# Comments
