My watch/fav thanking is not up to par and is my single worst trait as a human being. Please forgive me.

nevermind - once i start letting laziness take over my message center it usually takes me half a year or even longer getting back to all the favers and watchers

Thank you so much for the many comments! I'll give you some comments in return. I'll only comment on your traditional works, I don't know much about digital art so I can't realy say much about it (except: ooh, that's beautiful ).
Are you realy on DA since 1982? Gosh, that's a realy long time!

My parents lived in Bend for awhile.
I'm moving to Portland in about a year. Small world

Ahh, well it's an even smaller world. I am interviewing for a Portland position this week. I might very well end up there. I will miss Bend... I am in a bit of a panic. The idea of leaving soon makes me want to hurry up and see/do everything. There is SOOO MUCH neat stuff here... Who knows maybe a year from now we could get a sandwich and chit chat about our latest Deviations, Cheers!

Bend is beautiful, but was wayyyy to small for me. And man did I get tired of hiking, lol. But Portland is like Bend but with way more to do, well at least my type of city things but still a lot of outdoorsy stuff too.
I loved that mile long lava tunnel in Bend, that was so cool to go through.

Ahh, you are in LA... I guess anything would seem small compared to that concrete jungle. It will be nice to live in civilization again. I'm from Sacramento/San Francisco area. Oregon/Northern CA has been a bit of a culture shock, but I seem to be assimilating alright now.

I love SF, I actually hate LA, lol, I moved here from Colorado.
I felt like Portland really has that SF vibe. But it is wayyy more afordable, lol. And not so damn crowded!

But what about Olypmus? Is olympus a good camera?
π: 0 β©: 1
rasonjowe In reply to helloimhelena [2009-03-05 20:44:11 +0000 UTC]
They are not bad. They typically use leica lenses which are better than Sony and some of the other competitors. I personally don't like the camera's themselves. The Panasonic DSLRs and even the larger point and shoots just didn't seem as solid as the Canons or Nikons I have used.

Oh, i see...
But what about Canon EOS 1000D?
π: 0 β©: 1
rasonjowe In reply to helloimhelena [2009-03-05 21:53:51 +0000 UTC]
Ok, This is where my personal opinions come out. I prefer the Nikon over canon. But they are both awesome entry level DLSRs here is a [link] that compares the D60 to the EOS 1000D and they lean to the canon. I like the way that the Nikon feels and shoots. To me metering is very important. It is how the camera chooses the exposure and thus gives you better over all photo quality. You put that with the camera's lens selection I give my vote to the Nikon D60. If you can save your cash for a higher end camera... The D90 has a professional grade censor, quality of build, and it can shoot HD video to boot. Again just my personal opinion. When I shot with my friends EOS and put a heavier lens on it it just didn't seem very solid compared to the Nikons I have used. But we are comparing two world class brands and you would most likely be happy with either
