Yea, seen a lot of strange weather over the years. Most "interesting" sight was watching a very nasty lightning storm roll in from the ocean. We were on the end of a long narrow penisula. Near suicidal, but worth the risk.

i got linked here from militaryphotos.net ... i must say i understand what youre talking about when you mention your short, provocable co-worker... my squad leader is of the same stature and she is also very touchy about it... she's been through airborne school though so not many people give her much sh*t about it. well.. there should be a copyright on it(even if there isnt a symbol or whatever. who ever took the picture has ownership).. so you can do something about it...

They acknowledged who the photo belongs to. They included links to my archives. I emailed them about certain aspects of the hoax. They updated the page to be more accurate.
I have no complaint with snopes. Merely the original author of the hoax. I hope I find them someday so that I might properly "thank" them.

It's always a pleasure to see a soldier knowing who's his enemy and who not. There are too many of us, stupidly using stereotypes and call all muslims "ragheads" and so on...
Well, it's just easy to think black and white. But in my opinion, these guys are either really too dumb or simply not hard enough. Because their lack of knowledge creates a certain fear of the "evil unknown" muslim in their minds.
In todays warfare we cannot longer think in that ways, or soon all even peaceful and freedomloving people from muslimic countries will really turn in our enemies.
