As a Mewtwo fangirl, I can imagine how you flipped at Newtwo. Your thoughts on Genesect?

FYI I like Deoxys more than Mewtwo. Then again I am a Genthree-er

Flipped isn't exactly the right word...  the design of the Y forme is not to my liking, but I almost was willing to accept it as an homage to the manga story of Mewtwo, where there were multiple failed clones which got melty and disintegrated.  I was thinking maybe the Y forme was a highly unstable clone that somehow survived and escaped the lab...  but, rather than an homage, it turned out the entire thing was a retcon of the story I am the big fan of, made by someone who sounds to even be totally unaware of the plot of Mewtwo Returns.  As for the X form, it was designed by the same person who made Gurdurr, and the lumps really weird me out.  But yeah, I need to write more on this topic later for Copy Cat.

As for Genesect, I am totally meehhh.  But Generation Five Pokemon are mostly like that for me.

Generation Three is full of Pokemon I really like!  If I get ranting on Generation Three, it is about marketing blunders at the time, but the Pokemon are mostly really cool in my opinion!  I initially didn't care for Deoxys when I saw the sprite of Normal Deoxys (which was before the other formes were revealed), but I think part of the problem is the sprite really doesn't show off the coolness of Deoxys.  I was all, what is this beefy hand and these random tentacles??  Now, with the formes and the newer animated sprites, I get that it is actually DNA that can wrap up to form a hand or unfurl and form another shape, adapting!  It is a really neat idea that was not shown off nearly well enough!  But now that they are showing it properly, and I get it, it is pretty awesome!

Yeah, whole books could be written on the blatant plot-hole. And the defense "the movies are filler" aren't valid because both Mewtwo and Newtwo had build-up in the series proper. My idea for how to make it work is that the Y form should've been the natural state of Newtwo. Remember, Mewtwo isn't actually a true clone of Mew but rather a genetically modified one with who knows what done by a bunch of scientists who are dead. Newtwo should've naturally been in its Y state because whoever made them wouldn't modify the clone in the same way as Team Rocket.

I think Generation Five through forth the strongest roster of Pokemon. Hydreigon, Galvantula, Ferrothorn...

Thanks for the permission!  I've been working on majorly revamping Copy Cat since this past December (before all this crazy movie stuff happened!), and that includes total overhaul of the fanart section.  I am glad that you will still let me post your nice art.

I will probably write up my thoughts about the new Mewtwo movie once I have all the information and can think about it a bit.  Currently though, I think I will treat it as a subject off to the side in one page, rather than fully integrating it all over the site, kinda like how I planned to treat the Mirage Mew and Mewtwo or the Wave Guiding Hero Mew (although I haven't actually gotten around to making those pages yet, heh). I can't say I am happy about what I know of this new movie so far, and if the creators have decided to retcon/ignore the original Mewtwo, I can also mostly ignore this new Mewtwo as not part of the core story.  We'll see what happens when I get the rest of the information and am able to think more about it though.
