hello, I really enjoyed reading your colored pencils reviews (and they helped me decide what kind of pencils to buy.. first ) so thank you for that
Also, I was wondering, do you think it's worth buying colored pencil sets in wooden boxes (do they protect the pencils better or something)?
Oh, and your art is really amazing, I think
Have a nice day!

hi, robert. been feasting on your work. Wow! I have been doing prismacolor art on my own for about 25 years. I decided to see if there were more of us. I am interested in collaborating with and learning from fellow prismacolorists. I just joined deviantART and hope to share a few of my works.

Hello, Robert! you probably don't remember me, but I was one of the frequent users on SFFMuse way back in the day. I was going through some of my old emails, and ran across one from back then alerting me I had a message from you. I know its been a while, but i thought it would be nice if I said hello.

Hey Robert,
You know how funny it is when you are just browsing artwork and all the sudden you find the same person you know from other websites. It seems like every time I look up something about art I find your name among the thousands of Google pages, its usually in the top 3 haha!
Glad to see you have such a large social group, your time is well invested. I'm just a "little one", sort of in the background most of the time... I have heard how some people wonder how one small person can do so much and show so many colors. Obviously they never met you, or... your other half, Ari.

I love your stuff! and I LOVE Loreena McKennitt!!! I have been listening to her since the early 90s......I have all of her music, early til now AND I even got to see her in concert. I cried the moment I heard her voice in the theatre.........
ANYWAY........again beautiful work!!! I love working with pastels and colored pencils. I have recently bought oil pastels and may read some of your tips on how to use them!
Have a great day!

Thank you! Check out my website, www.explore-oil-pastels-with-robert-sloan.com -- I have posted more than 60 articles now and there's a ton of information collected or observed, including some basic drawing lessons and some technique articles on OP in particular. I reviewed all the brands I could get, so if you are having trouble with oil pastels look up the brand. It might be the materials giving you problems.
If you got good artist grade ones they shouldn't, the cheap ones have some problems sometimes that take a little bit of runaround like crumbling and generating crumbs that get all over into the wrong colors. If you love colored pencils and pastels they won't be too hard at all.

Wow, thank you! Please star the How-Tos with five stars, it helps them stay visible to get readers who don't know me -- if you don't think it's good enough, then please message me the critique and hold off on starring till I improve it or fix the problem.
Also if you have trouble with any of the projects feel free to message me, put your problem piece in your Scraps and I'll go look at it and help you. I'm happy to follow up and assist when anyone has trouble with any of my tutorials and I'm constantly learning to teach better -- it really helps me when anyone does that!
